As the temperatures hit the mid-to-high thirties, cool down with lightweight moisturisers, refreshing mists and super sunscreens

It's no secret that it's been super hot in Singapore. Sometimes when we move from air-conditioned places to the outdoors, the oppressive humidity hits us like a wave (or perhaps a slap is more apt) of hot air. The last thing you need in this weather is heavy moisturisers and thick makeup. But that doesn't mean you should forgo hydration and that extra layer of sunscreen to protect your skin from some seriously strong rays. Here are some light products that do the trick.

A spritz of face mist in the middle of the day can calm and cool down the skin. Especially after you've  just been out in the sun.

Allies of Skin Molecular Saviour Toner Mist, $69

Estée Lauder Nutritious Radiance Nutritious Vitality8 Radiant Energy Mist, $40

A lightweight moisturiser gives skin a much-needed dose of moisture without the tacky feeling on the skin. A good formula can also calm itchy and flaky skin.

Laneige Water Bank Gel Cream, $52

Orbis Aquaforce Moisture, $28Suu Balm Itch Relieving Moisturising Cream, $19.90

Top it off with a good sunscreen and be sure to re-apply twenty minutes before you head outdoors, covering the entire surface of any exposed skin well, for optimum protection.
