Get the look: Rihanna’s vampy Fenty face at the 2018 Grammys
Badgal coming through
While RiRi was saying her thank yous after winning 'Best Rap/Sung Collaboration' at this year's Grammys, the beauty peeps were likely only listening with half an ear, as we were busy zeroing in on her makeup instead. Never one to shy away from a fierce look when it comes to award season, everyone's favourite badgal slayed as a glamourous vamp with smokey eyes and a slick, dark lip. And if you're thinking this is the perfect Fenty face to recreate for a night out in town, you've got the right idea.
First things first though, you'll want to get started with the Pro Filt'r Instant Retouch Primer to prevent shine and set down a layer for your base to go on smoothly. Apply the Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation in your shade, and conceal where needed by tapping a tad more foundation in light layers over spots and dark circles (yes, we're all awaiting the day Fenty Beauty drops a concealer range). Next, contour and define the face with the Match Stix Matte Skinstick that complements your complexion — Rihanna uses Mocha — before popping a dewy, rosy glow on the apples of the cheeks with the shimmer version in Chilli Mango. Of course, what's the look without some highlight, amirite? Take the Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Girl Next Door and sweep away on the high points of the face using a light hand for that translucent glow.
With a soft matte base in place, go for the Mocha and Espresso Match Stixs on the eyes, applying the latter just on the very outer corner of the lids for definition, and be sure to blend the edges to soften any harsh lines. Now pull the look together by dabbing on a dark lip using the new Mattemoiselle lipstick in Shawty, which is a gorgeous deep plummy red. Give your pout a subtle, sexy sheen by slicking on a layer of Gloss Bomb, followed by a quick dusting of Invisimatte Blotting Powder on the face to absorb excess shine and lock in everything, and you're go to good all night.
