How to mimic Cher's amazing beauty look from the Billboard Music Awards 2017
Turn back time
If you were impressed with Cher's makeup at the Billboard Music Awards, where she received her Icon Award and gave a blazing performance, you're not the only one. The 71-year old veteran singer and actress looked bang on trend with glowing skin and cheekbones for miles, topping off her performance with a pink-dipped blonde wig — she later donned her signature halo of black curls. Her makeup artist Gina Brooke said of the look, "My inspiration was Cher. [She's] a true icon [and] a woman who makes my job effortless! I wanted to just enhance her natural beauty and incredible eyes for this big moment." Take a closer look at her makeup in the video below and marvel at her skin— so glowing and flawless — and her bewitching, almost holographic eye makeup and see the step-by-step below.
Here's what Brooke did to create her look using Marc Jacobs Beauty products:
1) To get a smooth, flawless base, she began by prepping Cher's skin with Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer, which brings the refreshing feel of coconut to the face while perfecting and creating longplasting makeup.
2) To accentuate Cher's iconic bone structure and to warm the complexion, Brooke applied the O!mega Bronzer Perfect Tan in Tantric 102, using the brand's Shape Contour and Blush Brush no. 15 right beneath the cheekbone.
3) To create rosy, flushed cheeks, Brooke applied the Air Blush Soft Glow Duo in 500 Lush & Libido using an angled Blush Brush No. 10, which made blending the two colors in the palette effortless. For the lips, she used the Poutliner Longwear Lip Liner Pencil in Prim(rose) 304 followed by Le Marc Liquid Lip Crème in Truth or Bare 454 for a natural, rosy pink pout.
4) The main focus of the look was Cher's incredible eyes. Brooke used the lightest shade of the soon-to-be-launched Eye-conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Provocouture, on the base of Cher's lids and then enhanced the crease using the darkest shade of the same palette. She then used the metallic shade from the Eye-conic Multi-Finish Eyeshadow Palette in Smartorial, all over the lid to ensure that her eye makeup would catch the light. To further enhance the eyes, she applied the Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara to the top and bottom lashes, for added thickness. Voila!
