Here's why you need a different kind of concealer for under your eyes

We've written a lot about concealers. But here's one more thing you may not know

We've always been a big believer in the power of the concealer, and it shows from what we've written on this site. From a long-lasting concealer that photographs well in every light, to building your concealer wardrobe. We've touched every base. Or so we thought. But we've found from conversations with many women, that they still don't really understand why we require different concealers for different purposes. While Clé de Peau Beauté's revamped stick concealer made big waves, it was not suitable on one area for us: The eyes. The reason being that for many women, the skin under the eyes is drier and more crepe-y compared to other parts of the face, and a thick cream texture just won't cut it for hiding dark circles. In fact it can often achieve the opposite effect of concealing — sinking into lines and crow's feet and making these appear more obvious.

Radiant Corrector for Eyes

This is why a fluid texture tends to work better for this area of the face. Clé de Peau Beauté's new Radiance Corrector for the Eyes is the revamped version of the existing Brilliant Enhancer. It works in several ways to make the eyes look more radiant and rested.

First, it neutalises imperfections and reflects light, so the eye area looks smoother and more even. Next, it blends red and yellow agents to correct the dark circles under the eyes, while the light-reflective pearl does its thing — creating the illusion of well-rested peepers. Finally, and this is a key point, it imbues the skin with hydration. It does so internally thanks to an illuminating skincare complex that treats this delicate area, and also does so physically — it contains elastic polymers that create a flexible meshwork, so the concealer blends and moves with your skin, and doesn't crack nor settle into fine lines.

With a brush head that dispenses easily and allows you to precisely apply and blend the fluid, there's no excuse for looking exhausted anymore. The face of the brand, Felicity Jones also gives it a thumbs up saying, "Radiant Corrector definitely helps protect my eyes against dryness, and really does camouflage uneven tone. It transforms the appearance of my eyes." Keen to try it? It comes in six shades: From Ivory to Dark.

$95 each. Available at Clé de Peau Beauté counters and stores from August
