Embrace your dark (or light) side: Star Wars-inspired makeup
Cover girl warriors
Makeup artist extraordinaire Pat McGrath has created six Star Wars-inspired looks for Cover Girl cosmetics... and they are awesome
In case you didn't get the memo, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a huge deal. Latest reports indicate that the film has taken US$517 million worldwide since its 17 December opening. And while Star Wars cosplay is par for the course, makeup looks inspired by the popular series are something else altogether. US cosmetics brand Cover Girl unfortunately doesn't retail in Singapore anymore, but there's no stopping you from getting some major inspiration from these six, gorgeous looks designed by makeup genius Pat McGrath. Or from getting friends who are travelling for the holidays to pick up some of these Cover Girl goodies. Click here to see makeup tutorials, face charts and how-to guides from the brand.
There are three looks for each side — the Light and the Dark — and we're liking the mix of dramatic flourish and truly wearable elements. There's no Queen Amidala-esque costume-y makeup in the mix, yet McGrath has skilfully captured the essence of a Jedi (think fresh-faced but glowing with the Force), a Droid (gleam like C-3Po in gold) and a Stormtrooper (suitably intimidating with lots of sharp angles). Ladies, and gents, feast your eyes on some top-notch makeup artistry.
