Beauty looks you have to try

The fall/winter beauty trends you’ll want to wear
No more sticking to safe and boring. Push the envelope and try out these hot beauty trends from the fall/winter 2015 runways

The upcoming fall/winter 2015 looks are all about making a strong statement. From the deep-red lips seen at Dolce & Gabbana to the graphic block-shaped eyes and smoking-hot lips at Saint Laurent, experiment and take your look to the extremes.

Giambattista Valli

The models at Giambattista Valli and Alberta Ferretti seemed to channel a doll-like innocence with fresh skin and thick, almost spider leg-like lashes. Try coating mascara on both the top and lower lashlines to get this modern Twiggy-like effect.

Diorshow Mascara, $53
There's a reason why this mascara has been winning awards for 10 years running. This will give you those pumped up, thick lashes with show-stopping volume to rival Twiggy's.

Laura Mercier Creme Eye Liner in Noir, $39
This eyeliner is perfectly creamy and waterproof, easy to apply, and most importantly, won't smudge in this heat.

Top tip: To get the best-looking results on my photo shoots, I use black eyelash glue. My favourite brand is Duo.

Chanel F/W '15

Graphic eyes were seen all over the major runways this fall. Dior and Chanel both showed this look so well, teaming their bold eye with a very neutral lip and flawless skin. Forget about blending the eyeshadow. Go for big, graphic shapes and unusual shades like plum.

Must try:
Stila Smudgestick Water Proof Eye Colour, $29
This amazing gel-based shadow-cum-eyeliner is great for creating these graphic shapes. Once drawn on the skin it stays there till you wipe it off.

Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet, $78
Don't forget your complexion girls. I just love the finish this foundation leaves on the skin: not too matte nor too shiny.

Top tip: To start your bold liner, use a lighter-coloured pencil that's still within the same colour family to trace the shape first — there's no need to hold back.

Emanuel Ungaro F/W '15

Strong lips were a big feature in some of the runways shows; notably at Marc Jacobs and Emanuel Ungaro. Jacobs used the stunning Kendall Jenner who carried the look brilliantly. In real life, you do have to be careful with this look as it can easily veer into goth territory, so balance it with pretty, soft skin to make this look flawless.

Michael Kors Glam Lip Lacquer in Dame
This lipstick makes your lips feel so soft because of the shea butter extract and vitamin E. I love that it nourishes the lips but still provides great coverage thats lasts for hours.

Smashbox Brow Tech, $42
This trio is amazing at keeping the brows looking groomed. It's all you need in one pot. The light powder fills in the gaps and the dark one defines the brow. The wax keeps strands in place.

Top tip: So as not to let the lipstick bleed, lightly dust a little powder around the edge of the lip. Your lipstick won't run later.
