There are many factors to consider when picking out a moisturiser. Price, function, and usability all play a part, though we'd say nothing pulls rank quite like texture. It is a sentiment especially prevalent in Singapore's hot and humid climate, where our list of requirements for The One reads: lightweight (no cement-like sensation on skin, please), fast-absorbing (all that sweatin' leaves us sticky enough as it is), and hydrating (because we all know that skin produces more oil to compensate when parched). Your best bet? Airy, gel-type offerings that ticks most of 'em boxes. 2019, luckily, shows no shortage of these goodies. The latest in the market to catch our eye — and hearts — below.

Tata Harper Hyaluronic Gel Moisturiser

Thirty high performance ingredients and a quintuple hyaluronic acid complex provide a surge of intense yet lightweight hydration, replenishing and nourishing skin effortlessly. Ideal for oily and combination skin types, Tata Harper's gel moisturiser also comes formulated with powerful natural antioxidants to smooth out a rough, uneven complexion. What's not to love?

Laneige Water Bank Hydro Cream EX

The newest addition to the Laneige's deep hydration family, the Water Bank Hydro Cream features moisture-balancing minerals — think sodium, potassium, and calcium — as well as supercharged vegetables that glide weightlessly onto skin to replenish and lock in moisture. Its original Water Zipper Technology also helps strengthen the skin's ability to rehydrate itself naturally.

Volition Beauty Celery Green Cream

This oil-free moisturiser does more than just hydrate and plump skin. It also minimises the appearance of clogged, enlarged pores, smooths out uneven skin tones, and calms red, inflamed skin thanks to a potent blend of celery seed, cucumber, and lavender extract. Sold.

E.L.F. Cosmetics Jelly Pop Water Gel Moisturiser

Its gel texture quickly transforms to liquid upon application, absorbing instantaneously into skin to impart all the goodness of its skin-nourishing watermelon and castor oil formula. Users also love that it leaves behind no sticky, tacky residue, so it makes a perfect canvas for makeup application. Fun fact: it has the seal of approval from beauty guru Jeffree Star.

Bliss What A Melon Hydrator

This cruelty-free, vegan option packs a powerful punch with a combination of moisture-retaining watermelon fruit extract and balancing Brazilian seawater. Its weightless, gel texture brings about lightweight moisture to parched skin and it has exfoliating properties to lift dead skin cells for a healthy, glowing complexion. The seriously Instagrammable aesthetic (#shelfie, much?) is simply the cherry on top.

Dr Dennis Gross Hyaluronic Moisture Cushion

Brimming with thirst-quenching hyaluronic acid, this gel-cream from Dr Dennis Gross plumps, smooths, and firms skin without leaving a trail of greasy residue in its wake. Its unique, oil-free formulation also allows for moisture to bind to skin effortlessly, making for stronger, healthier skin with sustained use.
