Steve Jobs’ daughter is Glossier’s latest face, #JeffreeStarIsGoingtoPrison trends, and other beauty news
1. Glossier taps Steve Jobs' daughter, Eve, to be the face of their holiday campaign.
The 22-year-old Stanford student is pictured using the brand's limited edition lip gloss whilst enjoying a bubble bath. "Last step in @evecjobs' routine," the brand wrote, adding a champagne emoji within the emoji in reference to the glass of bubbly Jobs' has in her grip. A Glossier campaign right off the bat? Talk about starting off your modeling career on the right foot. We foresee bigger things coming her way, soon. And since we're on the subject of celebrity ambassadors...
2. Nicole Kidman is named the new face of Seratopical.
The label is known for their cannabidiol beauty products that range from facial oils to pain-relieving roll-ons. Aside from repping the brand, Kidman has also been named a "strategic business partner," where she will assist in deciding Seratopical's product development and messaging. "I've been really proud in the last several years to make career and business choices that my girls would look at in the future and be proud of and say, "Yep, that's my mama," she wrote in a statement.
3. Jeffree Star bribes his sexual assault accuser to retract his claims.
The documents were leaked by infamous gossip site, Sticky Drama, which revealed that Scott Andrews — the Chief Executive Officer of Jeffree Star Cosmetics — issued a USD$45,000 cheque to Gage Arthur, the man who accused Star of sexual and aggravated assault earlier this year. And while Star's legal team has yet to confirm or comment on the situation, the Internet immediately took the news and ran with it, with hashtag #JeffreeStarIsGoingtoPrison trending for hours. Watch this space for more updates.
4. Megan Thee Stallion embarks on a natural hair challenge.
The gauntlet was thrown down by both Stallion and go-to hairstylist, Kellon Deryck, who are attempting to see how long and healthy Stallion's natural mane can get. The singer then finished off her Instagram post by asking for recommendations for Black-owned haircare lines. Celebs in the vein of Gabrielle Union and Taraji P. Henson were quick to throw their brands in the ring. G'luck to all parties involved, we say.
5. Pete Wentz bleached his hair platinum blonde
And grew it out, we might add. Fall Out Boy's lead singer is now rocking a full beard, dark roots, and slick-straight, shoulder-length blonde locks. We predict man buns, headbands, and a shampoo advertorial (or two) in Wentz's near future.
6. My Chemical Romance makeup is a thing.
The band's collaboration with HipDot led to the inception of a MCR double-ended retractable eyeliner, dual brush, and a 9-pan eyeshadow palette featuring red and navy hues commonly sported by singer, Gerad Way, back in the day. A blast from the past, indeed — though we can't help but speculate as to an impending new album. Fingers crossed?
7. Mei Kawajiri has partnered up with ManiMe to drop some at-home nail kits.
It's an apt decision as any, seeing the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the US. These kits comprise 15 stick-on gel stickers as well as a nail file, and comes in three designs: Love Wins (rainbow hues), Let's Link Up (black and gold), as well as Mei Party's (graphics galore). Yes, this means you won't have to risk a trip to Kawajiri's Instagram-famous parlour to score her one-of-a-kind talons. Bless.
8. Dolly Parton promises that her very-own fragrance will be coming in 2021.
Parton will be working with Edge Beauty to create her signature scent. CEO, Steve Mormoris, stayed mostly mum on its scent and packaging, though he did reveal that they're "working on a multiplicity of olfactory forms." This could entail candles, hair perfumes, and even diffusers, if we're lucky. Rejoice.
