New in Singapore: Cult Korean skincare label, Whal Myung, is the next minimalist, apothecary-style beauty brand to watch
K-Beauty is never short of innovation and invention. From salmon sperm to donkey milk, very few ideas are off-limits when it is done in the name of beauty — which, naturally, has led to the inception of some of the most revolutionary products in the market (see: cushion compacts, sheet masks, and cleansing balms). A philosophy that shows no signs of abating in 2019, it’s one that is deeply embodied by Singapore’s latest K-Beauty import, Whal Myung.
Developed by Korea's first-ever pharmaceutical company, Dong Wha Pharm, it comes as no surprise that Whal Myung's winning formulations are rooted in medicine and herbs. Or, more specifically, digestive medicine. The brand originated from Dong Wha Pharm's "life-saving water", Whal Myung Su, which was used to tend to the stomach problems in Korea since 1897. The medicine's healing 11-herb formula was adapted for skincare, thus forming the backbone of Whal Myung.
Comprising five unique herb extracts and the latest in Western medical technology, Whal Myung means business when it comes to the restoration and rejuvenation of your complexion. The seven-piece range is a motley crew of efficacious serums, creams, and elixirs to fulfil every skincare desire, from brightening to moisturising, and more.
