Miley Cyrus for M.A.C Viva Glam

Miley Cyrus for M.A.C Viva Glam

Lip service

Text: Renée Batchelor

Say what you like about Miley Cyrus. The controversial starlet does her part for HIV/AIDS issues by returning this year as the face of M.A.C Viva Glam

Smiley Miley has certainly courted controversy since her breakthrough performance at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards — yes the one with the twerking bears and giant foam finger. But beyond her ear candy hits, OTT outfits and outspoken personality, Cyrus has actually stood out for being remarkably grounded and self-assured for a child star.

This year Cyrus returns as the face of Viva Glam introducing two new shades. The Lipstick — dubbed Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 — is a brilliant orange, while the Lipglass, with the same name, is a matching orange with pearlescent finish. As someone who has spoken out for the cause — including giving a heartfelt speech at this year's amFAR gala — Cyrus has been an excellent champion.

M.A.C Viva Glam Miley Cyrus 2 Lipstick and Lipglass

Even if you're not a Miley fan, you'll love the bright pop of colour of her signature creation, and the fact that 100 per cent of the purchase price goes towards the M.A.C Aids Fund. Among the things your lipstick or lipglass can buy: one rapid oral HIV test, a counselling session for an HIV+ woman or even a pair of shoes for a child orphaned by the disease. Now that's paying more than lip service to the cause.

$31 each. At M.A.C counters and stores now
