L'Occitane opens a pop-up cafe in Singapore
When you think of Provencal brand L'Occitane, what comes to mind? For us, is it's high-quality and luxurious shea butter hand and body care as well as its beautiful, plant-based skincare ranges. Food? Not so much. But following the brand's successful collaboration with Pierre Hermé (you might have tasted their delectable macarons or scrumptious jams from visits to France), the brand's general manager of the Southeast Asia group, Irene Goh, decided to translate the concept to Singapore. Working with local chef Janice Wong — herself a protege of Hermé — the brand's first ever pop-up cafe on level one of Ion Orchard brings the tastes and experience of Provence to Singapore. Step in and you'll find a palette of yellow and velvety textures that mimic the warmth and vibrance of Provence. The music playing? It's what you'll hear if you were there. The space is also reminiscent of the Pierre Hermé store at 86 Champs-Élysées.
The pop-up cafe will feature a menu of creations that were designed with the signature ingredients of L'Occitane: cherry blossom, verbena, bergamot, rose and almond. Some are entirely new desserts, chocolates and treats that you will be able to find in this cafe for the very first time. Curious to sample their wares? Make a date with your closest gal pals for some teatime fun or grab a drink and some chocolate bites. But work fast. Nothing gold can stay and this pop-up only lasts till 16 July. Besides enjoying these exclusive desserts visitors can try out the products at the skincare and body care texture bar, learn the stories of harvesters who cultivate the precious raw ingredients that go into each jar or bottle, as well as smell firsthand what makes L'Occitane products so aromatic. It's also a good time to stock up on essentials and new discoveries, as all products from the brand are offered at an exclusive 10 percent off. Now that's a sweet deal.
