Leave it to the Japanese to whip up a makeup collection that’s cuteness incarnate

Is it just us or is beauty currently riding the kawaii wave? Case in point, Les Merveilleuses Ladurée's new collection for fall. You already know them for their ridiculously pretty blushers that look like real rose petals, and just when you think they can't get any more dreamy or princess-y, the Japanese import is turning out an autumn edit full of adorable must-haves.

Dubbed 'Teatime with the Merveilleuses', the products are fit for flatlaying with your high teas and gourmet coffees six ways to Sunday, what with a new blusher in loose powder form that comes packaged like a miniature tin of tea. There are five shades across girly pinks and peaches to give you a natural, dewy flush, and the same colour scheme can also be had with its equally adorable, tint-finish lipglosses. And adding sweetness points to 'em is the scent of coconut-meets-sugary confection every time you so much as twist open the tube. This is all just part one by the way, as the brand is serving up an extra dose of cute with a part two to the collection that consist of base products and limited edition liquid cheek colours.

The absolute 'die die must have' item for the super collectors though? This gorgeous powder case designed to look like a golden shell, modelled after one of the motifs from the rocaille fashion (a decorative style that was trending everywhere in 18th and 19th century Europe). Plus the delicate embossing on its surface is done with real 24K gold — because why not? Talk about treats meant to tempt you.

Autumn Collection I is available at the Les Merveilleuses Ladurée boutique at Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Level B1-37A. Autumn Collection II will be available from 14 September, $23 - $78
