1. L'Oréal and LVMH to produce hand sanitisers in response to the shortage in Europe.

It's nice to see that the formidable forces within the industry are using their influence — and resources —for good. Both the L'Oréal Group and LVMH have announced that they would be offering up their (numerous) factories to produce hand sanitiser. The former will provide hydro-alcholic gel solutions to hospitals, nursing homes, and main partnering pharmacies through Europe, while the latter will distribute theirs to French health authorities.

2. Makeup Revolution pulls their latest Glass collection after Manny MUA accuses them of plagiarism.

The influential YouTuber airs his grievances in a 14-minute-long video titled, "I never wanted to make this video." As it turns out, the drama started when Manny was tagged in various pictures of Makeup Revolution's latest collection, Glass, which featured packaging that was markedly similar to Lunar Beauty — Manny's makeup line — packaging. And while the brand denies having ripped off any designs, they have released a statement claiming that they have taken "immediate steps to remove the product from sale and will notify our distributors to do the same."

3. Dua Lipa debuts a whole new hair look on Instagram.

While we'll never know if those fresh blunt-cut bangs are a result of boredom thanks to all that social distancing she's practicing, Dua Lipa has assured us that this is "the new normal." Hey, if it looks that good, we'll take it. As for our other favourite faces, they're spending this newfound alone time by...

4. Kaia Gerber practices her makeup skills on BFF, Tommy Dorfman, while self-isolating.

Ah, to have an an outlet for all your creative energy during these trying times. Model, Kaia Gerber, and her close friend, Tommy Dorfman, have that covered, and are flexing their makeup skills during quarantine by showing off the makeovers they gave each other via Instagram. Dorfman excitedly proclaimed that he's "getting decent at makeup during this time." Judging by Gerber's experimental neon lids, we're inclined to agree.

5. Cardi B reveals her real hair on Instagram story.

The rapper shed her wig to show off her natural, textured locks in an IG video, a first since she's launched her career in Hollywood. This was followed by a quick tutorial on how she usually styles it (with a flat-iron), though she's quick to point out how "proud" she is of her "f*cking real hair."

6. Video conferencing app, Zoom, develops a beauty filter.

All those days of isolation might be taking a toll on your mug. For those looking for a quick fix, download Zoom and give the "Touch Up My Appearance" filter a whirl. According to the company, it grants a "softening effect to skin to minimise the visibility of imperfections." Sign us up.

7. Famed rapper, Saweetie, teams up with Morphe to drop a new makeup collection.

The collection is aptly tited, "Backstage with Saweetie," and comprises a 24-pan artistry palette, a six-piece makeup brush kit, limited-edition mini setting spray, and Saweetie's signature lip gloss — all of which will be available online beginning 30 March. This marks the first time Morphe has ever worked with a musician, though we highly doubt it'll be the last.

8. Laura Mercier drops a full skincare range.

The full line-up includes 10 potent products developed to both clean and improve skin before makeup application. Think a cleansing oil, moisturiser, cleanser, micellar water, and the like that contains a calculated blend of three skin-clearing ingredients: French spring water, rose water, and starflower oil. Available online beginning 20 April — and hopefully sometime soon on Sephora shelves.
