Kylie Jenner accused of inflating the success of her business, Hailey Bieber’s feud with a plastic surgeon, and other beauty news
1. Kylie Jenner accused of fudging figures for her beauty empire.
An in-depth investigation by Forbes has reportedly uncovered that Kylie's business is significantly smaller — and less profitable — than the public has been led to believe. The business publication claims that the Jenners' accountants have shown the magazine falsified tax documents drafted with inflated numbers to "help juice Forbes' estimates of Kylie's earnings and net worth." Jenner then took to Twitter to respond to the accusations, calling Forbes out for "a number of inaccurate statements and unproven assumptions." Uh, something tells us that tea spill YouTube channels are going to get real busy this week...
2. Hailey Bieber is threatening to sue a prolific plastic surgeon.
Everything came to a head when plastic surgeon, Daniel Barrett, posted two photos of Bieber taken years apart on his TikTok. He then claimed that it's "physically impossible" to get from where she was then to now "without getting a little bit of help." He goes on to speculate that she likely had a nose job, skin-tightening procedure, jawline contouring, genioplasty, as well as some cheek and lip fillers.
This led to Bieber sending Dr. Barrett a cease-and-desist letter accusing him of using her to "commercially advertise [his] plastic surgery practice and to spread false, uncorroborated claims." Oof. She's also demanding he take the video down, though it seems Barrett is refusing on the grounds that he's doing this to increase the "awareness" and "transparency" surrounding plastic surgery procedures.
3. Naomi Campbell is made the first-ever face of Pat McGrath Labs.
It stands to reason that only a legend can rep the mother of makeup's beauty line. Campbell stars in in the campaign for the new collection, the Mothership VIII Divine Rose II Eye Palette and Lipstick, a pigment-packed dream comprising jewel toned shadows and enviable shimmers. Campbell reveals in an interview with Elle that she would probably be "upset" if McGrath hadn't approached her to be featured in the campaign. "I want to support my friends, my family, my chosen family," she said. "You know, we came up together and I feel that you're supposed to support each other." Talk about a match-made in heaven.
4. Miley Cyrus changes up her hair... again.
No, you haven't lost track of the days just yet. The ex-Disney star was, in fact, rocking a pixie-mullet last week. Close to ten days after, she's swapped it out for matching mohawks with quarantine bud and beau, Cody Simpson. Anyone else getting 2013 Wrecking Ball vibes? We know we are.
5. Chrissy Teigen is having her breast implants removed.
The model slash television personality slash author broke the news via Instagram. "I'm getting my boobs out! They've been great to me for many years but I'm just over it. I'd like to be able to zip a dress in my size, lay on my belly with pure comfort!" she wrote. Apparently, she had implants inserted at the age of 20 "for a swimsuit thing," as told in an interview with Glamour UK.
6. Burberry Beauty welcomes Isamaya Ffrench on-board as their new global beauty director.
You probably recognise as the makeup luminary behind Rihanna's skinny arches or Zendaya's jaw-dropping transformation into a (literal) old lady. Well, either way, it seems Ffrench will be taking her vision across the pond to British shores. In a statement by Riccardo Tisci, Burberry's chief creative officer, he states that "Britishness has always carried this sense of attitude; it is confident, strong, and also eccentric. Isamaya is the perfect ambassador to interpret the tension between classical and creative for Burberry Beauty." We can't wait to see it.
7. Dior just dropped a stunning new campaign video starring Cara Delevingne.
The 30-second spot has Delevingne seductively slide on the brand's all-new Stellar Shine in varying shades as Billie Eilish's Strange Addiction plays in the background. We will say that there's nothing strange about getting addicted to these hydrating, high-shine lippies. In fact, it's expected.
8. Kew Organics is offering complimentary personalised skin consultations.
Facial salons aren't opening their doors anytime soon — but you can still get a professional's opinion with Skin SOS.
