Kérastase finally has a customisable innovation that prolongs your hair colour
Not fade away
What do you love most about your hair colour? If you answered the vibrancy and boldness of a new hue then you'll probably wish you could prolong the lifespan of your freshly-dyed hair. After all, everyone wants hair that looks healthy, lustrous and reflects light. The irony? Hair dyeing tends to strip the hair, leaving it brittle, dull and less than glorious, while hair colour often washes out to a faded, unattractive shade after time.
Kérastase understood this conundrum and has introduced a stunning, new innovation in its iconic Reflection range. Dubbed Les Touches Chromatiques this home-care system is essentially a customised hair colour corrector that is inspired by its makeup counterpart. Consisting of a mask and a dye booster, this comes in four shades: Red, brown, blonde and copper. Each shade is designed to enhance these popular hair colours, according to the principle of the colour wheel and uses an opposite shade to enhance your existing hue. For example, if you opt for the Blonde shade, you'll find a purple dye that helps counteract brassiness and yellowness, while for Brown, a green dye is used to neutralise the redness in brunette hair.
The real beauty of this innovation is its elegance. To boost your hair colour, simply add 10 clicks of the Touches Chromatiques to the special Masque Chromatique, blend and apply on your head for 10 minutes before rinsing out. If you don't want a big 'hit' of colour, you can customise your dose, by using less clicks or by spacing out the frequency of your applications. Use this several times a week, just before your hair colour begins to fade, and you'll breathe new life into your hue of choice and lessen the need for salon appointments. And if you're the kind that loves being pampered, then head to your Kérastase-approved stylist for a 30-minute, in-salon ritual, where your stylist will do the work for you.
$45 for the Touches Chromatiques and $69 for the mask. Available at Kérastase salons
