Hunter Schafer is the new face of Shiseido, Lauren Conrad unveils her makeup brand, and other beauty news
1. Hunter Schafer is Shiseido's latest global ambassador.
Does art imitate life, or life imitate art? Either way, we're all for this fitting new team-up between Schafer and Shiseido. Best known for her portrayal of Jules in Euphoria, it seems Schafer shares her character's proclivity for groundbreaking makeup looks IRL too. She states in a press release, "When I look at Shiseido, I see a level of artistic energy that is really unique. As someone who likes to be artistic with makeup, that was something that instantly attracted me to the brand. Shiseido is about more than trying to look pretty or appeal to a specific standard of beauty. Shiseido is parallel to art." You know what this means — more game changing lewks from the star even when Euphoria is on hiatus. Yaas.
2. Lauren Conrad debuts her very own beauty brand.
Surprise, surprise. It might sound sudden, but Lauren Conrad Beauty has been a project years in the making. "We've been working for years to create a line that's clean, environmentally friendly, ethically sourced, and vegan — and all available at accessible price points without sacrificing quality," Conrad wrote in a statement. "My hope is that Lauren Conrad Beauty helps you celebrate your own natural beauty and brings joy to your beauty routine." So far, the full line comprises a liquid eyeliner, lipstick, lip and cheek tint, lip gloss, and liquid highlighter.
3. Kesha joins the beauty YouTube scene.
Her series, Beauty & BS with Kesha, aims to showcase the singer's very own journey with makeup. Don't expect tutorials or step-by-step guides behind her flamboyant looks, but rather, lighthearted vids demonstrating her struggles and triumphs with cosmetics. Her debut video sees Kesha attempting "music-video worthy" makeup with the guidance of her go-to MUA, Vittorio Masecchia.
4. Cara Delevingne and Kaia Gerber get matching tattoos.
5. Fenty Beauty drops two new limited edition Snap Shadow Eyeshadow Palette variants.
Meet Wine and Money. The former primarily comprises of rich, neutral burgundy hues whereas the latter is all about the green (naturally). Think vivid pops of forest green paired with lime metallic and emerald shimmers. Pick 'em up at all Sephora outlets now.
6. Re:erth has opened their first flagship boutique in Singapore.
Located conveniently at Tangs Orchard, the space demonstrates a design concept perfectly suited to the label's DNA. You can expect interactive elements, unique colour palettes, and beautiful leafy plants that will leave you feeling tranquil and well-rested upon arrival. Sounds perfect, if you ask us.
7. Le Labo's City Exclusive scents will be available in Singapore for a limited time only.
As we all know, Le Labo routinely crafts exclusive fragrances that are sold only in the city they are made for. No exceptions - until now, it seems. Beginning 1 September and ending 30 September, Singapore's boutique will have every Le Labo City Exclusive fragrance available for purchase. This includes the latest Citron 28; a complex composition dedicated to Seoul. We're whipping out our credit cards as we write this.
8. Players are requesting more inclusive hairstyles from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
The petition was started by Taniesha Bracken-Hucks, who noticed a lack of textured and natural hairstyles available for the customisable characters in ACNH. So far, the venture has amassed up to 40,000 signatures in support, with Bracken-Hucks going as far as to produce a visual to give examples of some of the hairstyles she would love to see.
