Gigi Hadid addresses plastic surgery rumours, Khloe Kardashian is now brunette, and other beauty news
1. Gigi Hadid denies rumours that she's undergone facial fillers during her pregnancy.
The model has decisively shut down all speculation during an Instagram live hosted by Maybelline. "People think I do fillers on my face, and that's why my face is round. I've had this since I was born," she said, before going on to add that pregnancy has made her face fuller, too. "Especially fashion month, when I was already a few months preggo... I have the cheeks already, so there's not a lot to fill in." She then talked about how she preferred makeup to cosmetic surgery as she's "too much of a control freak."
2. Kristen Bell will be launching her very own beauty brand.
There's no stopping the wave of celeb beauty brands hitting the market this year — and yes, it seems this applies even in the midst of a crisis. The latest of the lot is Kristen Bell, who will be partnering up with luxury label, Lord Jones, to drop an affordable, easy-to-use CBD skincare line. So far, she has revealed that the label will be called Happy Dance and that products will be hitting shelves in September 2020.
3. Jeffree Star responds to backlash over his latest palette.
The Cremated collection immediately received flak upon its release last week, where members of the beauty community felt the name and theme were highly inappropriate considering how COVID-19 has already claimed the lives of thousands. Star then took to Snapchat to address criticism. "To me, it's so much more than an eyeshadow palette. There are so many meanings with my art," he said. "I created it for the world and it's allowed to be interpreted any way anyone wants to take it, but I always come from a good place."
4. Miley Cyrus got a new haircut.
The person responsible for her mane makeover? Cyrus's mother, Tish — with the help of go-to stylist, Sally Hershberger, who reportedly virtually coached Tish through the cut. The final look serves as a perfect amalgamation between a pixie cut and a mullet, which hence caused Hershberger to term it the "pixie mullet." Attempt this bold look at your own risk, folks. Speaking of hair transformations...
5. Khloe Kardashian goes brunette.
We can't say we're too surprised that yet another member of the Kardashian clan has leapt upon the "bronde" bandwagon. Gone is Khloe's signature platinum blonde, and in its place, a light brown hue with dark roots accompanied by hints of blonde. What's not to love?
