Flower girl: Dior spring 2016 makeup

In bloom

Inspired by Christian Dior's childhood home in Granville, the new spring collection by Peter Philips is a vibrant burst of colour

Taking inspiration from the legendary designer's bucolic paradise in Granville, Christian Dior's creative and image director for makeup Peter Philips, has created some truly beautiful makeup shades. Riffing on its vibrant colours, crystalline light and sea-side freshness, Philips imagined hundreds of imaginary flowers glowing in the early morning light. The result? A colourful collection that bursts with springtime luminosity.

Our personal favourites? The 5 Couleurs eyeshadow palette in Glowing Gardens. Each boasts a fresh combination of colours that balances out brights and bolder shades with more wearable neutrals. Blue gardens has a gorgeous mint green shade (seen on the model) that we predict will be the colour for spring.

Other highlights from the collection include the handy Colour & Contour eyeshadow pens — again the fresh green Water Lily is a highlight — that allow you to create a multi-dimensional eyeshadow look with just one simple product.

Also worth a mention? The nail polish shades that are like flowers on acid — think neon-tinged lilac and green. we're definitely bringing these to our next manicure appointment.
