Estée Lauder signs on the chic, Parisian makeup star Violette as its new global beauty director
From Paris with love
There's a new (creative) head in town, and she is the one-named wonder Violette. The native Parisian who now lives in New York with her partner began painting and studying art at the age of three. She was enrolled in the prestigious École du Louvre in Paris and also studied fashion and costume design. Besides having that obvious je ne sai quoi she has more than a passing resemblance to Jane Birkin's daughter, singer and actress Lou Doillon. Violette is pretty much the quintessential French cool chick who is skilled at makeup, but not overly precious. What she brings to the brand according to their official statement, is "a fresh approach to the visceral experience of makeup, playful experimentation, and a genuine appreciation of beauty as an art form."
Violette, who used to work with Dior, will now collaborate with Estée Lauder on key areas like product development, digital content creation, training, and public relations initiatives. Not only will the content she creates be shared on the brand's digital and social channels, but on her own You Tube — where she teaches French girl beauty secrets in an approachable way — and Instagram as well. “We are thrilled to welcome Violette to the Estée Lauder brand and look forward to an exciting collaborative partnership,” said Stephane de La Faverie, global brand president, Estée Lauder. “As a talented makeup artist and lifestyle influencer with a passion for art and colour, Violette brings a unique voice and perspective to beauty. We are excited to partner with Violette on innovative new product ideas and engaging digital content that creates a dynamic new beauty conversation with women around the world across all touch points."
As for the woman in question? Violette says, “I am so honored to work with the Estee Lauder brand,” said Violette. “Estée was such a visionary and is still an inspiration for women today. She understood beauty is a way of expressing yourself, a way to celebrate femininity. And that is also my philosophy. I can’t wait to connect with women everywhere as part of this brand and take them on this journey with me.” Check out the talented Violette doing her 'Bardot look' below.
