Dover Street Market just opened a beauty store, Dua Lipa dyes her hair platinum blonde, and other beauty news
1. Dover Street Parfums Market debuts in Paris.
The multi-brand fashion retailer has opened a beauty division in Paris which features a carefully curated collection of skincare, makeup, hair care, and perfumes from both big-name brands and indie labels. Think Gucci and Byredo alongside niche offerings such as Aer and C.O. Bigelow. No official word yet if they'll be opening on our shores, but rumours are rife that it'll be soon. Fingers crossed.
2. Dua Lipa goes platinum blonde... and beyond.
In a surprising move, Dua Lipa goes blonde — and more — for her upcoming album. Upon closer inspection, we've noticed that her platinum lob comes with a layer of black strands peeking out from under. She hashtagges 'D12' in her post, which is probably a reference to the new tracks she'll be dropping soon. Colour us (literally) intrigued. And in other related news...
3. Bella Hadid dyes her hair black.
She may have stepped out with sunny-blonde locks just weeks before, but Bella Hadid has gone darker for fall. She was spotted with jet-black tresses at the Miu Miu fashion show during Paris Fashion Week, and later, too, when she roamed the city. A permanent change or a temporary sitch? Only time will tell.
4. Drag Race fan-favourite Kim Chi is all set to launch her very own beauty line.
Established in partnership with NYX Cosmetics founder, Toni Ko, the popular RuPaul's Drag Race contestant will be dropping her makeup brand full of "colour, pigment, and all-around quality glamming staples." Available 16 October, the range supposedly comprises of eyeshadows, lipsticks, and mirrors.
5. Hera will be celebrating their first anniversary with a line-up of activities and exclusive in-store beauty treats.
The flagship ION Orchard outlet takes centre stage this month, where the brand is releasing — and giving away — exclusive photo cards of ambassador, Jennie of Blackpink, with any purchase from the Hera Black Collection. Customers are also entitled to a limited edition Jennie poster upon a minimum spend of $100. And that's not all — complimentary lipstick and cushion compact engraving services will be provided on 4 to 6 October as well as 18 to 20 October, as global makeup artists dispense tips and tricks in-store.
6. Colourpop has dropped a Halloween-themed collection with beauty influencer, Safiya Nygaard.
Picture six limited-edition lipstick hues of red, nude, and burgundy that come engraved with bats on the bullet. The perfect way to kick off this spooktacular month? You betcha.
7. Thom Browne makes his first foray into fragrance with a gender-neutral collection.
Created in collaboration with storied Swiss fragrance maker, Givaudan, the full range contains six unisex scents named serial number-style with the date of Browne's birthday, 09.27.65, followed by the numbers 01 to 06. All of them are infused with smoky vetiver, a grass that Browne feels "crosses for both men and women."
8. Bobbi Brown reformulates and repackages star product, the Intensive Skin Serum Foundation.
