Dior extends its popular Lip Glow to include new colours and finishes
The year was 2009, when the House of Dior first introduced the Dior Lip Glow, a colour reviving lip balm. Says Peter Philips, the creative and image director of the brand's makeup, " [It has] the benefits of a slightly coloured ink, combined with the comfort of a balm." Used backstage to get that no-makeup makeup look, Philips adds, "It has become an essential part of women's routines, as it is a fantastic combination of lip care and makeup. It is so intuitively simple to apply, you don't even need a mirror, and it provides incredible and refreshing tailor-made colour."
To expand this collection, the brand has introduced six, new products including two new shades of the regular Lip Glow — Raspberry and Ultra Pink — and two new finishes, Matte Glow and Holo Glow. For Matte Glow the blurred effect was entirely intentional. "By playing around with the formulas in the laboratory we found that we could create a lip glow with a matte glow finish. It's a tinted balm with a blurring effect that enhances lips without giving the impression you're wearing makeup," says Philips. The formula is enriched with both mango butter and cranberry oil, with its signature colour reviver technology to make the lips flush pink.
Holo Glow meanwhile gives that iridescent, holographic finish that is trending now and enhances the natural lip. Says Philips, "The Holo Glow shades have iridescent effect and a more radiant makeup result because of the iridescence in the formula that reflects the light differently." Some of the colours in this collection are one-shots, so if you like them, we would advise stocking up on these purse essentials.
