Clé de Peau Beauté introduces a new, matte version of its luxury lipstick

Feels like cashmere

In case you haven't gotten the memo, matte lipsticks are still trending in 2018. Here's how Clé de Peau Beauté elevated the experience with its new Lipstick Cashmere

It's a matte world when it comes to lipsticks. It seems everyone likes the look of shine-free and highly-pigmented lipsticks, but sometimes wearing it is a completely different story. We've already waxed lyrical about some other versions of the matte lipstick which feel comfortable and look good, but for those who want a truly luxurious lipstick, Clé de Peau Beauté has a proposition you can't refuse. It's original The Lipstick, with a unique S-shaped tip that hugs the lips, debuted last year to much fanfare. This July, the brand's Cashmere version makes its much-anticipated appearance.

CPB Lip Cashmere

The texture of the lipstick is the key difference. After all the materials possible for its name, the brand chose 'cashmere', suggesting something luxurious, comforting to the touch and expensive. It should also give you some clue as to the kind of lipstick Clé de Peau Beauté wanted to create. The formula is as well thought out as the packaging. Flexible and light transfusion powders move with the lips so that it doesn't crack and lines are not emphasised when it is worn. Meanwhile, the oil embracing powder gives smoothness to the lippie, while the discreet light oil gives radiance without shine — a key component to acheiving that glowing, matte look. Add to that the skincare ingredients, the Illuminating Hydro-Wrap Complex blended with argan tree oil and you get a lipstick of unparalleled comfort and radiance.

Felicity Jones in shade Legend

The brand's face Felicity Jones has only good things to share about the lipstick saying, "I loved wearing Lip Cashmere at the shoot. The cashmere-like texture feels natural and soft on your lips. Its finish is exquisite. I love how all the colours go on exactly how they look." For the day, Jones favours the paler, nude shades like Pouty, while at night she favours the darker shades like Legend, a dramatic, deep red which "make her feel poweful." We haven't yet had a chance to try any of the eight shades, but with matte lipsticks as our not-so-secret indulgence and Clé de Peau Beauté's reputation for true quality, we can't wait to do so.

$92 each. Available from July at Clé de Peau Beauté counters and stores
