Chris Evans unveils his secret collection of tattoos, Joe Jonas dyes his hair pink, and other beauty news
1. Chris Evans reveals a multitude of tattoos on his torso.
Fans counted six previously undisclosed pieces ranging from his chest to his hipbone. This all came to light after Evans posted an Instagram Story of himself vaulting into a pool with the caption, "Last swim before the pool hibernates (it was freezing.) I wonder what it's like to be tan." And while the image quality is a tad grainy, the Internet has identified an eagle, a branch, and what appears to be some abstract line work — which Avengers cast mate, Robert Downey Jr., revealed was done by Scarlet Johansson in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Hmm, interesting, alright.
2. A fly steals the show during the vice-presidential debate.
Mike Pence (the current Republican vice president) and Kamala Harris (democratic nominee) squared off in front of American audiences on 8 October. Unfortunately, it wasn't their discussion that stole the show, but rather, an innocuous house fly which landed on Pence's head. The moment was made especially noticeable thanks to Pence's snow-white helmet hair and has already sparked many a viral meme. Left-wing presidential candidate, Joe Biden, immediately got in on this by tweeting a photo of himself with a fly swatter. "Pitch in $5 to help this campaign fly," he wrote. What a wordsmith.
3. Joe Jonas bleaches his hair pink.
The singer — and new father — posted a selfie of his 'do on Instagram. It featured a sparkly pink ribbon sticker in the background which signifies that the makeover was done in a bid to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Is there a hair hue this man can't pull off? We think not.
4. Killing Eve makeup is a thing.
The BBC comedy-spy thriller will be releasing a range of consumer merchandise across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle sectors with AMC Networks and IMG agreeing upon a multiyear licensing deal. Killing Eve executive producer, Sally Woodward Gentle, confirmed that they'll be "collaborating with partners who understand the style and ethos of the series."
5. Cruelty-free label, Nudestix, expands into skincare.
Nudeskin by Nudestix is focused on crafting products that provide the perfect base for no-makeup makeup. The full range (so far) comprises a cleansing balm, gel cleanser, exfoliating toner, moisturiser, and an acid-micro peel — all of which is vegan; developed to work on all skin types; and comes at wallet-friendly prices. Sign us up. And speaking of branching out...
6. Flower Beauty now does hair care.
Hot hair tools, to be specific. Think styling irons and travel-sized hair dryers outfitted in vibrant hues of pastel yellow, pink, and mint; a full seven-piece set that costs less than USD$80. Founder, Drew Barrymore, stresses that this is due to the fact that Flower Beauty was built on accessibility. "It's where I shop, and we've worked hard to get these products to this price point," she wrote, "especially considering the elevated functionality."
7. Haus Laboratories has launched bronzer and blusher duos.
Enter: Head Rush and Heat Spell; the brand's blusher and bronzer palette respectively. There are five shades of bronzer and seven blushes total to pick from — and as if that wasn't appealing enough, the soft-matte duos are also tactically paired with a complementary highlighter shade. Score.
8. Tom Ford has released a Private Blend Lost Cherry Candle.
Light this bad boy up to perfume the air with notes of this lush, exotic cherry. Think a hint of bitter almond; Griotte Syrup; as well as Turkish rose and Jasmine Sambac to round out the full scent profile.
