Watch: Chloé’s new scent is calling all wanderers and world citizens
Smell the freedom
2018 is surely the year of Chloé. Not only did the iconic Eau de Parfum celebrate turning 10 with a new campaign and limited edition remake, the French house has also recruited a new muse to take its signature feminine aesthetic down a different avenue — one that explores the world at large and invokes a sense of escapism.
Among shifting sands, free running horses and what appears to be an open-ended road trip to anywhere and everywhere, French actress Ariane Labed illuminates a new facet to the Chloé girl as a modern-day wanderer that goes where her fancies take her. Shot on location in Rajasthan, the film captures the concept of Nomade by way of Labed's constant desire to see more and connect to an immutable freedom as part of her identity as a free spirit who makes her home wherever she lands. Inspired by none other than brand founder Gaby Aghion who used to say, "My colours come from Egypt", the new Nomade bottles Chloé's vision of liberty and the allure of discovery into its juice, using sweet mirabelle plum, radiant freesia and woody oak moss to create a floral chypre. Blended by perfumer Quentin Bisch, a spritz of Nomade is the essence of effortless elegance and fresh confidence, combined with an impression of infinite adventure.
Further emphasising the independent femininity that's uniquely Chloé, the flacon takes its curves from the iconic Drew bag, highlighting a softness to the glass bottle — coloured a rosy beige thanks to its juice — which contrasts with the graphic lines of its collar that's touched with accents of pink blush. Embodying a new Chloé creed that reflects the modern woman's sensibilities, this is the scent that bids you to go far while living in the moment.
