Best beauty collabs in celebration of National Day 2019: Innisfree, Nodspark, and more
Stand up for Singapore
If you're Singaporean, August is pretty much synonymous with National Day, no matter where in the spectrum your patriotism lies. The one holiday that gets us locals to cease our complaining (uh, mostly), put aside our differences on hotly-contested issues — see: SMRT, gah-men, hawker food culture — and embrace Singlish loud and proud. There's no better time to express our love for the City of Lions, really, and beauty junkies can do so by scoopin' up the latest beauty collabs celebrating the occasion. Say majulah to nail wraps and skincare that appeal to our sense of national pride and vanity. The best of both worlds, amirite? Watch this more space for more updates as we draw closer to 9 August.
Nodspark x Smukk.e
Local label Nodspark partners with illustrious Instagram illustrator, Smukk.e, to deliver on four uniquely Singapore nail wraps this August. Designs include You're A Gem, White Rabbit, I Love SG, and Cable Car — all of which depict one-of-a-kind facets of Singaporean culture. Whoever said you can't wear your heart on your nails clearly does not understand the creative force our island nation.
Innisfree x WhenIWasFour
Innisfree Singapore sets out on their first-ever collaboration with local design studio, WhenIWasFour, to produce a limited edition makeup pouch and three enamel pins inspired by the brand's top-selling skincare lines: Jeju Orchid, Volcanic Clay, and Green Tea. These nostalgic local collectibles will be available at all Innisfree outlets island-wide with a minmum purchase of $68. You can also scoop up other WhenIWasFour creations exclusively at the Vivocity outlet from 1 to 26 August.
Guardian x Ang Ku Kueh Girl
Homegrown cartoon character, Ang Ku Kueh Girl, adorns limited edition Guardian tote bags this season. Available with every beauty purchase of $54 and above, each design features a charming colloquial phrase — 'stay chio inside out' or 'power sia' anyone? Local sweets and our favourite Singlish phrases make for a good pairing.
