Beauty products to buy on Net-a-Porter: Noteworthy skincare and makeup to put in your online shopping cart
On the up and up
Call it an occupational hazard, but we have an acute sense as to the various comings, goings, and shortcomings of brands and notable names within the industry. This month alone has seen beauty YouTubers behaving badly, the departure of Queen Bey's honey-blonde locks, as well as the arrival of cult beauty brands to premier beauty destination, Net-A-Porter. From the skincare savvy that whip masks out of 24k pure gold to multi-functional makeup inspired by travel essentials, these are the labels setting our radars pinging this season.
Spearheaded by celebrity aesthetician, Mimi Luzon, the self-proclaimed skin wellbeing expert bears an impressive clientele spanning numerous Victoria's Secret angels and influencers of Chiara Ferragni's caliber. It seems the glowing, dewy skin so often spotted on the V.S. runway can be credited to her lineup of complexion-saving products, most notably, the 24k Pure Gold Mask which — you guessed it — is formulated with actual gold. The star ingredient is also prominently featured in her other bestsellers, which includes the 24k Pure Gold Glow and Pure Gold Dust. Mm, if this is the Midas touch really does for skin, we'd say we're all for it.

If you find yourself flummoxed by the variety skincare products dedicated exclusively to certain face and or body areas — see: eye creams, neck creams, etc — you're not alone. Founders of Lixirskin harbour the same apprehension, citing that what's good for one part of your skin should be good for other areas, too. This, thus, led to the birth of Lixirskin: a skincare label touting universal skincare essentials, with targeted products for skin concerns rather than specific areas. Bestsellers include their Universal Emulsion (a moisturiser, night cream and serum all in one) as well as their Electrogel Cleanser.

Spotted all over Instagram feeds during awards season: the KNC Beauty Lip Mask aka those giant, jelly puckers gracing celebrity selfies from Emma Stone to Jessica Alba. Founded by Kristen Noel Crawley, the entrepreneur credits Tokyo's vibrant, bustling discount store, Don Quijote, as the inspiration behind creating her line of natural, collagen-infused lip masks that delivers on smooth, kissable puckers. The brand later branched out to produce an retinol-infused eye mask (which also comes in adorable, very much Instagram-worthy star shapes) that claims to diminish dark eye circles and puffy eye bags. The emergency masking kit to reach for when your pout and peepers be looking a little under the weather, pretty much.

Jetsetters, rejoice, because we have just the beauty brand for ya. Providing a comprehensive range of multitasking beauty essentials, Wander Beauty ensures that you don't have to curtail any of your makeup and skincare favourites the next time you fly out. Think dual matte and illuminating concealer, a blush and illuminator stick, as well as liquid shadows that double up as lippies. Oh, and did we mention that every product is housed in bottles and packaging made safe for air-travel? Yup, it seems our (piss-poor) attempts at decanting can now (finally) be left in the past where it belongs.

We're always up for some shut-eye — as is newly launched German label, Bynacht, it seems. Combining aromatherapeautic oils and active ingredients, their line of innovative skincare products works to promote a restful sleep as well as smooth, healthy skin, with their research detailing that an individual's skin renewal rate doubles at night. Case in point: a moisturiser that comes infused with bergamot oil (to lull you into a state of calm) and shea butter (to hydrate).
