1. Antoni Porowski debuts a freshly-buzzed head.

The news broke when Porowski posted a picture of himself dining out on Instagram, slyly evading any references to his new 'do by captioning it, "Number of times I almost put food through my mask: 3." Still, that didn't stop the rest of the cast of Queer Eye — and the Internet — from freaking out in the comments. JVN, naturally, sums our feelings up best, "Quarantine makeover realness bb," he wrote.

 

2. Fenty Skin products are being re-sold for up to USD$550.

The three Start'r products have only hit official shelves for a day, but are already being listed on sites such as Ebay for astronomical prices. We can't say we're entirely surprised seeing as how it's being lauded as the "new culture of skincare." Brace those bank accounts, we guess...? Or, alternatively, wait until products are re-stocked on the site. Just a thought, folks.


3. Lizzo shows off bright green locks.

The Truth Hurts singer revealed that her new look was courtesy of hairstylist, Shelby Swain, via Instagram. She complemented her freshly dyed tresses with matching eyeshadow and gold-star sticker adhesives. "When they say 'ima star' this is what they mean," she wrote.


4. Laneige is releasing gummy bear version of their cult sleeping mask.

It will also be available as a Lip Glowy Balm. It does, however, harbour limited edition status, so be sure to snap it up ASAP 7 August when it drops on Laneige and Sephora's site. Speaking of new releases...

 

5. Hourglass Cosmetics introduces a new finishing powder to their line-up.

Meet the Ambient Infinity Lighting Powder; an amalgamation of two classic Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and an Ambient Strobe Highlighter that grants a natural, radiant finish to skin. Each are hand-made using an advanced mixing technique that ensures no two look the same. Neat.

 

6. Innisfree teams up with local illustrator, Puffing Muffin, to celebrate Singapore's 55thbirthday.

This was done in an effort to shine a light on local creatives. Candice Phang, aka Puffing Muffin, has thus designed six illustrations centering around leads, Pore Pore and Cha Cha. Both are based on Innisfree bestsellers, the Super Volcanic Pore Clay Mask 2X and Green Tea Seed Serum. The full work explores their short journey around Singapore to rediscover the city amidst the global pandemic. Each piece will be rolled out via Instagram beginning 4 August, where fans will be able to vote for their favourite visual. A few lucky voters will also stand the chance to win an Innisfree gift set worth $155.

 

7. Charlotte Tilbury celebrates National Lipstick Day by conducting a makeup masterclass with charity partner, Women for Women International.

The ticketed event took place 29 July. It featured celebrity makeup artist, Sofia Tilbury, who dispensed her tips, tricks, and techniques behind acquiring a gorgeous pout as well as Women for Women International Ambassador, Niomi Smart. All proceeds were donated so WFWI can continue their efforts in supporting female survivors of war.

 

8. The Makeup Show goes online.

As with most large-scale events, the industry-insider trade show has been moved to a digital venue. "It's been a hard time for our industry during COVID-19," founder, Shelly Taggar, said in a statement. "Since this time makes it difficult to connect, we wanted to find a way to be with our community and support the brands, sponsors, and artists in providing an experience like we have always done, even if it's in a virtual experience." The Makeup Show will hence take place from 13 to 15 September — where attendees get to check out up-and-coming brands and acquire business insights from experts.
