Chris Pine returns as the face of the new Armani Code Profumo
Little know fact: Fans of actor Chris Pine are hilariously dubbed Pine Nuts. Though they may not be as vocal online as Benedict Cumberbatch's Cumberbitches and Tom Hiddleston's Hiddlestoners, these superfans are devoted to both Pine's considerable charms and his career-defining role as Captain James T. Kirk on the Star Trek reboot. With the latest episode Star Trek Beyond to be released in 2016, Pine is set to claim his fair share of press this year.
Returning as the face of the Armani Code range of scents, the latest fragrance Code Profumo, is sexy and spicy, with top notes of green mandarin, green apple and cardamom. At the heart of the fragrance is orange blossom and lavender, intensified by nutmeg. The base notes are tonka bean, amber and leather for a gorgeously warm trail. Here perfumer Antoine Maisondieu tells us the main difference between Code and Code Profumo.
What are the differences between Armani Code Profumo and Armani Code?
Code Profumo is more sensual and spicy with cardamom and nutmeg while the original Code is more aromatic and fresh thanks to lavender and rosemary. Profumo is leathery and ambery.
The Tonka Bean has been the most important ingredient in the Code franchise. How have you reworked it for Armani Code Profumo?
I wanted to modernise the fragrance so I increased the levels of the tonka bean and gave it a hint of ambery woods.
The concept of Armani Code Profumo is the vibration between two people when there is an attraction. What in this fragrance vibrates?
The vibration of Code Profumo comes from the encounter between the sensuality of the tonka bean and vanilla accord and the masculinity of the modern woods.
