Power of crystals

Sofia Tilbury. You may know her as the makeup maven, Charlotte Tilbury's niece. Now, to be exact, she's Charlotte's sister, Leah Tilbury's (who also works at Charlotte Tilbury, btw) daughter. She's an Instagram influencer in her own right with 214k followers as of press and counting, and, of course, a makeup artist. We got our hands on her self-isolation skincare diary:

"I'm self-isolating in the countryside in the UK right now, and I have been really lucky to have access to a garden [where] I can work out in and be able to take daily walks –– which is so important for your health and wellbeing.

I'm working from home, which is keeping me super busy! The majority of my time is spent on conference calls, shooting makeup videos on myself, and answering emails and messages on my Instagram. Charlotte recently launched her new Magic Serum Crystal Elixir ($170) with the first-ever virtual press day for the brand and beauty industry, and it has created a huge buzz, so it was super exciting to be a part of that!

We are doing another virtual press day for Charlotte's new Airbrush Bronzer (launching in Singapore on 16 July 2020) which is my absolute favourite product for year-round smoothing, pore-blurring, encapsulated sun!!! It's a skincare and makeup hybrid which I love as it's really treating your skin –– it even has hyaluronic acid to moisturise!

In terms of taking time out for me, I have found that skincare is an amazing way to build self-care into your [wellness] routine. Scent is so important for your mood, so I like to start my skincare routine by cleansing my skin with Charlotte's Goddess Cleansing Ritual. It's a two-step, double cleanse consisting of a citrus oil cleanse to melt away makeup, and a purifying charcoal cleanse to draw out deeply-rooted dirt. It contains lemon, rose and bergamot essential oils, which are super invigorating and uplifting, so I like to really enjoy the aromas as I massage it in!

Next, I apply the Goddess Skin Clay Mask ($80). Before red carpet events, Charlotte sends this mask ahead of time to her celebrity clients if she knows they won't have time to see their facialist, so it's perfect for times like this! It gives you baby-smooth skin in just 15 minutes, but I like to leave it on for 45 minutes to an hour when I have more time. While it's on, I tend to make myself a chamomile tea, read a book or just sit back and relax while watching Netflix!

After removing the clay mask with a damp, warm cloth, I apply Charlotte's new Magic Serum Crystal Elixir ($170)! Since I've been using this serum, I've noticed such a huge change in my skin, whenever I FaceTime my family, they comment on how much my pores have shrunk!

Charlotte worked with some of the world's leading laboratories to formulate this potent elixir. It contains polyglutamic acid which is four times more hydrating than hyaluronic acid and golden vitamin C, which is a non-irritating alternative for anyone who has ever struggled with traditional vitamin C serums like me! It helps even and brighten your complexion without causing breakouts or redness. It also contains niacinamide, which is like a bootcamp for your pores! Great for blemish-prone skin!

Another thing I love about this serum is that it actually has CRYSTALS in it! I'm from Ibiza, so I grew up around crystals and a bohemian way of life. I really do believe in the mood-boosting, holistic healing aura of crystals, so this feels extra special and powerful right now. It's an extra dose of wellness!

I like to use four to six drops on cleansed skin, really taking the time to warm it between my fingertips and massage upwards and outwards over my face, and I lock it in with Charlotte's Magic Cream ($150) for an intensely hydrating layer of moisture."
