Just a month back, a motley crew of celebrities — assembled by Gal Gadot — took to the social media to sing Imagine. While well-intentioned, it soon garnered heavy criticism, whereupon it was viewed as a meaningless and hollow gesture in the fight against COVID-19. Bearing this in mind, it came as a surprise that whistle note hitter and pop tour de force, Ariana Grande, decided to drop a music video with Justin Bieber at this time.

Stuck with U, luckily, takes a different approach. Made by fans and celebs in the vein of Gwyneth Paltrow and Kylie Jenner, the compilation of clips is both heartwarming and sentimental, made even more also by the fact that all net proceeds from the sales of the track will go to First Responders Children Foundation; a charity that fund grants and scholarships for kids of frontline workers.

Amidst reaching for all that tissues and lamenting our continued self-isolation (jk), we were, however, distracted by Queen Ari's stellar makeup. Namely, her killer eyeliner. Normally the work of go-to makeup artist, Daniel Chinchilla, we dropped him an email to the KVD Vegan Beauty North American Cat Eye Ambassador to get the scoop on this swish and flick sitch. Here's what he had to say:

First things first — how did you discover your love for makeup?
I discovered my love for makeup very randomly. I actually wanted to take a break from college and needed a job. I got a job working at the makeup counter. I quickly fell in love with having so much fun with clients and making them feel beautiful.

And that's how you got your start in the beauty industry?
That was more through meeting people and networking. I was very eager to always learn more, and perfect my craft. I was always very passionate about makeup and I think people recognized that.

Then you met Ariana Grande and developed that signature cat eye for her.
That's right. When it comes to doing eyeliner, it's all about learning the way to make your cat eyes look their best. Everyone's eye shape is different. The KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner is the best for this because its brush tip is so precise. It's so easy to do an amazing cat eye when you have the right tool for it, you know? I get really in-depth about it on the KVD Vegan Beauty YouTube channel.

What is one thing you think people should do more or less of when it comes to eye makeup?
Eye makeup is all about art and creating an illusion. You can change your eye shape by switching-up your application methods. Go lighter on the inner corners of your eyes and graduate to a darker shade as you blend outwards. Apply your eyeshadow before your foundation to prevent unwanted fall out beneath the eyes.

What's the most important makeup lesson you think everyone should know?
I think people should always focus on accentuating their best features. It will help draw attention to those features. Brows, and eyes are super important. I also feel that it's a great idea to have a foundation you love and that makes your skin look amazing.

What are some beauty rituals you engage in to get you in the right mindset before work?
My beauty rituals before work are making sure my skin is glowing. I also feel concealer is important in looking more awake and ready for the day. I make sure to use Vitamin C serum, moisturizer, and SPF. Protecting our skin is so important. I actually also like to curl and enhance my lashes with a little mascara because it makes such a huge difference in how I look and feel.

Personally, what are three beauty products you can't live without?
My Jouer Highlighter because it is such a beautiful and smooth highlighter on any skin type. The NARS Creamy Concealer gives the perfect coverage and blends right into the skin. And, of course, the KVD Vegan Beauty Tattoo Liner makes my life so much easier.

Last but not least — where do you hope to see yourself in five years?
I hope to be as happy as I am today. I would love to keep growing as an artist, and growing my brand. Maybe even launching my own product for everyone to love. Growth is so important to me. I love being creative.
