Innisfree welcomes five new lip hues inspired by the vivid colours of crushed rose petals
Everything’s coming up roses
Subtlety reigns supreme in K-Beauty culture — if the ever-popular dewy complexions, straight brows and melted-on-lipstick looks are any indication. With more than a handful of brands advocating the natural, effortless beauty movement (Sulwhalsoo, Hera, to name a few), it comes as no surprise that most products work to enhance or complement in barely discernable amounts. See, for instance, the almost imperceptible hint of lipstick sported by the female lead in 2017 K-drama, Goblin, which was responsible for catapulting the 'My-Lips-But-Better' movement back into the spotlight. But, alas, there's one Korean label that decided to abandon the tried-and-true trajectory this season: Innisfree.
The brand opts to expand on their much-adored Vivid Cotton Ink Liquid Lipsticks with the Crushed Rose Collection — inspired by the intense colours of a crushed rose petal. And intense is the word for it, judging by the pigmented pouts we've seen. Expect berry, brick brown, and deep red shades slated to give your face a lively, radiant touch while still bearing the light and moisturising formula of the OG Vivid Cotton Ink.
The full range of head-turning shades to choose from comprises of Rosy Beige Maple, Peach Beige Maple, Sunset Scarlet Maple, Brick Brown Maple and Chili Brown Maple. Slick it on, pucker up, and get ready for your close-up: these bad boys are far from shy.
Available at all Innisfree outlets and retails at $15 each.
