Whether it's missing out on a limited-edition mascara drop or purchasing a primer that is more dud than stud, we get it — and are here to help. In the interest of saving you time, money, and disappointment, we've gathered the most hyped new releases of the month for your viewing (and buying) pleasure. Stay tuned for regular updates — and ready the plastic.
Gucci Beauty Fluide De Beauté Fini Naturel — Natural Finish Fluid Foundation
Was there any doubt that the fashion house would expand further into the complexion game? We think not. Their first foray was a mattifying powder; the second, a feather-light, velvet-soft finish foundation that blurs blemishes and masks the appearance of large, extended pores. Available in 25 hues, it prides itself on a buildable formula that glides on with ease, whether your preferred method of application is your digits or a brush. Now, that's what we call versatile.
Available 24 December.
Fenty Beauty Pro Filt'r Soft Matte Powder Foundation
It wasn't too long ago that Fenty dropped a foundation that shook up the beauty realm. And while we wouldn't call this an encore of the same magnitude, the brand's Soft Matte Powder Foundation has created sizable buzz. This largely has to do with its fast, flexible, and flawless tagline; a humidity-resistant and crease-free foundation perfect for on-the-go touch-ups in our sunny shores. Pro tip: it comes in the same 50 shades as the original Pro Filt'r Foundation, so don't sweat the shade-matching process.
Available 26 December.
Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops
There was some hesitation behind featuring GR's latest skincare makeup hybrid in this roundup. After some thought — and a test-run — though, it seemed only fair to classify this ultra-reflective highlighter serum as makeup. Unlike traditional options, this bad boy contains no mica, glitters, or pearls. Rather, it grants a glassy finish reminiscent of the undisturbed surface of a serene lake; a varnished yet natural finish regularly seen on many a K-pop idol. We'll expound on its additional skin benefits inanother piece, but just know you'll be doing your mien many favours by scooping it up.
Dior Backstage Holiday Range
The maison's latest essentials were conceived by Dior's Creative and Image Director, Peter Phillips, whose vision translates to three Glow Face Palettes and Lip Maximizers. Gold is the central focus of the range here, available in both shimmery, metallic, and subtle variations to dust on your face, lids, and lips. According to Phillips, each offering is designed to be "true chameleons that can adapt to any skin tone." We like the sound of that. And that's not all we're seeing from Dior this month...
Available 1 November.
Dior Golden Nights Holiday 2020 Collection
Rock and roll meets fantastical fairy tales in the form of eyeshadow palettes emblazoned with snowflakes; glitter-finish eyeliners; nail polishes that resembles snow globes; and the like. The aesthetic — while a clear celebration of the festive season — is chic rather than garish, proving versatile enough that we know we'll be flaunting them beyond December.
Available 1 November.
Tom Ford Extrême Holiday Sparks Collection
The mere mention of face masks these days can feel tiresome, but there's no avoiding our current covered-up reality. We know this — and so does Tom Ford, who has strategically elected to emphasise your pretty peepers. The Extrême Sparks quad eyeshadow palette is just what you need to dust 'em lids in party-ready hues including earthy browns, metallic pinks, and shimmery silvers. Metallic sequined lipsticks are on the table, too; an orangey-red Alias alongside a striking burgundy titled Hyper.
Available 1 November.
Les Chaînes D'or de Chanel
Emily in Paris must have honed our French well, because a quick skim of the collection's title is enough to discern its inspiration: chains. More specifically, Chanel's classic golden chain, which shows itself in a varied range of eyeshadows, lipsticks, and nail polishes that contain scintillating sparkles and shimmers. Expect golden radiance and bold luminosity across all products.
Available 6 November.
Nars Holiday 2020 Collection
Iconic essentials are bedecked in glitz and gold this November. Yes, that's spankin' new holiday packaging for top Nars bestselling lipsticks in hues such as Barbara and Anita; a Glow Cheek Duo that packs the peachy pink Orgasm Blush with the widely-adored Laguna Bronzing Powder; and lip balm sets amongst many others. Talk about being spoilt for choice, huh?
Available 25 November.
Nars Soft Matte Complete Foundation
The brand's latest complexion-perfecting venture has all the makings of a cult classic. In a surprising move, Nars has bucked the damp, dewy skin trend of 2020 to grant a full-coverage, transfer-proof foundation with a soft matte finish, thus allowing for long hours of wear without cracking or flaking. Its shine-control and oxidation-resistant capabilities further sweetens the deal, serving as a picture-perfect fit for our hot and humid shores. Perhaps it's why SG is the only country — beyond the U.S., that is — to launch the product in 2020. Either way, we're not complaining. Choose between 25 hues when it arrives in Sephora this October. For those who prefer their makeup with a side of skincare, however, might we suggest...
Available 1 October.
Chanel Sublimage L'Essence De Teint
This serum-foundation hybrid comprises antioxidant intense vanilla planifolia water and emollient vanilla planifolia enfleurage oil to hydrate and brighten in equal measure. Yes, that means you can have your cake and eat it too; an all-in-one offering that creates the illusion of a flawless mien while doing some actual good for your skin. More pros: a fine, lightweight texture means you'll be able to sport it without experiencing heaviness or stickiness, while the incorporation of light-reflecting particles ensures a radiant glow throughout the day. The cons are minimal, though the limited shade-range (a whopping six hues) does give us pause.
Available 30 October.
Chanel Rouge Allure Laque
To claim a satin-finish lipstick as budge-proof sounds like a contradiction in itself, and yet it is precisely what Chanel promises with the Rouge Allure Laque. Marketed as life-proof, it harbours a fluid, water-resistant formula that stays on from morning to evening without causing dryness or discomfort. How ideal — as is the 20 rich, flamboyant hues it comes in. Talk about being spoilt for choice.
Available 2 October.
Urban Decay Stoned Vibes Eyeshadow Palette
Pure, prismatic energy is what you'll get with this 12-pan palette; an assorted range of nude and jewel hues in eight buttery shimmers and four grounded mattes. A little goes a long-way with these pigment-packed shadows, so be sure to dust them on with a light hand using either your finger or the provided double-ended vegan brush.
Available 1 October.
Fenty Beauty Glossy Posse Holo'daze Edition Mini Gloss Bomb Collection
It's that time of the year again. Holiday ranges are debuting in droves, with Fenty leading the charge on two limited edition lip sets. We foresee the Mini Gloss Bomb Collection reaching sell-out status the second it hits shelves, a set of four new hues that include Cake Shake (shimmering bronze); Baby Brut (shimmering champagne); Taffy Tea$e (shimmering coral); and Ruby Milk (shimmering fuchsia).
Available 23 October.
Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation Hydration and Longwear
The fashion house's Les Beiges line is often regard as the "ultimate incarnation of French beauty" — and for good reason. After all, there is nothing conveys the spirit of République française quite like a certain je ne sais quoi; a showcase of subtlety and sophistication that manages to further enhance one's attractiveness with ease. In this case, the latest Chanel Les Beiges foundation is up for the task. Its natural, radiant finish comes in 25 shades; grants comfort and hydration to complexions; and is reportedly light as a breeze so as to allow for long hours of wear.
Available 4 September.
Nars The Bronze Voyage
Travelling for leisure is still (unfortunately) a pipe dream in 2020. In our case, we're sating our wanderlust by indulging in makeup inspired by globetrotting adventures. Nars has interpreted this as a series of travel essentials designed to make (future) jet setting endeavours a piece of cake, such as with multiple Face Sets comprising an eyeshadow palette, mascara, and blush. Lip tints and balms are on the table too. Here's to the day where we might eventually bust 'em out for use re: travel — in the meantime, their portability also cements their status as great companions in our day-to-day lives.
Laneige Neo Cushion
Blue light can lead to some nasty skin business. Seeing how most of us are still #WFH, though, screen time is also an inevitability. Luckily, K-Beauty label Laneige has picked up on this and dropped two blue light certified cushion foundations: Neo Pink and Neo Mint. The former minimises blue light damage while brightening. The latter, on the other hand, covers all manner of pores and imperfections in a matter of minutes. All in all, a complexion well-shielded from the luminous glow of your various electronics. Score.
Urban Decay Lash Freak Volumising & Lengthening Mascara
If we're talking numbers, UD's newest ultra-pigmented mascara is said to deliver on 23.6 times more volume and 40 percent more visible length as compared to typical mascara trappings. Interesting - as is the fact that is said to be long-wear formula that lasts up to 20 hours and is smudge- and sweat-proof. BRB, we're still computing if there's anything this mascara can't do.

Shu Uemura Unlimited Glow Breathable Care-In Foundation
We don't know about you, but 24 shades custom-tailored and developed for Asian skin tones sure sounds like music to our ears. Another pleasing buzzword associated with this foundation: breathable. That is a weightless blend that doesn't cake, crease, or flake off in distracting clumps. Essentially, light-as-air and just what we need as the weather heats up. You treat us too well, Shu.
Hourglass Cosmetics Instant Extensions Mascara
Phase 1 of circuit breaker brings back a slew of emotions, both good and bad. The latter, for us beauty buffs, were mostly associated with the lack of beautification services available. Call us paranoid, or perhaps just cautious — but in the likelihood that we enter lockdown once more, we'd prefer not to be caught out without being able to put our best face forward. And that's where Hourglass's latest mascara comes in; a lifting, defining, and lightweight formula that promises the look of instant lash extensions. In sum, a quick fix in a tube should salons should (sadly) be shut down once more. Or, your go-to mascara that delivers on seriously fluttery lashes, particularly for those who prefer it au naturel.

Its three-shade line-up is said to flatter a wide variety of skin tones.

An all-in-offering boasting lip care, shine, and ultra-pigmented colour? Sounds implausible, but that's precisely what you're slated to get with Clarins's newest venture. Its lush, plant-based formula translates to a pillow soft pout, while the inclusion of jojoba seed oil speeds up wound-healing so peeling, cracked lips are a thing of the past. From nudes and pinks to corals and reds, there are a total of eight dynamic shades to scoop up.
Nars Orgasm X Collection
Your cult-favourite blush has just extended its reach in the form of Orgasm X, a full collection where the provocative pink hue takes centrestage. Load up and swipe it on 'em cheekbones for a subtle, dewy glow that will everyone asking about your glass skin routine.

In sum, it's everything your mien could possibly need in our hot and humid climate.

Pick between a matte or satin finish, both of which are available in ten and fourteen hues respectively. Each shade draws inspiration from the brand's legendary silk archives that contain no fewer than 75,000 vibrant, effervescent colours. A status symbol in the making? You know it.
