#BuroLive Episode 8: DIY Chinese New Year hairstyles with Christian Maranion

Hair hacks

No hairstylist, no problem. This week we try out some DIY hairstyles for the Lunar New Year with Christian Maranion of 27A, done on Buro's fashion writer Andrea Sim

Yes you've gotten your tresses cut and dyed, but what happens come reunion dinner night or the first day of visiting, when you need to style your hair and well... no one's available. Pick up some easy styling tips from hair expert Christian Maranion of 27A. Watch as he runs us through achieving easy texture in your hair using a curling iron. The trick is in practicing in front of the mirror with your (high-quality) iron and creating slight waves that are ever-so-slightly haphazard. Is you hair on the coarse side? Don't be afraid to use the heat on at a higher temperature setting so that the curls last that bit longer.

Watch as he transforms fashion writer Andrea Sim's straight bob into textured waves that add a dose of femininity without being too girlish. And if you have a bit more time, elevate your look even further with a simple twist on both sides of the crown for an easy, off-your-face braided look that works especially well when you're busy chowing down and catching up with friends and fam. This Chinese New Year, accessorise with your tresses... and not just with red.
