The haircut that slims down your face
The Koreans have been responsible for some of the wackiest beauty trends we've seen, from the CD face (a face small enough to fit behind a CD) to the aegyo-sal (rolls of fat under the eyes that supposedly convey youthfulness). But we've finally found a trend that we can get behind. L'Oréal Professionnel have developed a service just for the Asian market to help women achieve the ideal, V-shaped face without going under the scalpel. The spokesperson for this new service is Korean actress Yoon Eun Hye.
Instead of a knife, the stylist will be wielding the scissors to give you an über-flattering haircut — think more volume at the top, face-framing layers or an airy fringe — to cleverly disguise less-than-perfect spots and face shapes. This will be followed by clever hair colouring techniques to complement the cut, this time using placement of highlights and either light or dark tones to conceal and showcase different parts of the face. The result? A haircut and colour that gives you a gorgeous, pixie-shaped face.
Available from June 2015, at select L'Oréal Professionnel salons.
