#TopDrawerTuesday: Our favourite fragrances

Editor's picks

Text: Renée Batchelor

Sweet, sultry, sexy, or sophisticated. Our tastes run the gamut when it comes to our personal scents

There's nothing more personal than a fragrance. You may pick one for its campaign face or its beautiful bottle, but you'll stick to a scent simply because it's 'you'. You as an olfactory interpretation that is. Here the ladies of the Buro team tell us their favourites.

Denise Kok | Lifestyle Editor
Diptyque Do Son Eau de Parfum, $201

"Tuberose is carnal, creamy, and beguiling — Diptyque showcases a head-turning rendition of this flower by combining it with masculine undertones of musk. The addition of orange blossom leaf and pink peppercorns tilt the scent away from retro territory, making it a fresh, contemporary fragrance that references a romantic aesthetic without drowning in it."

Vimidamini Haridasan | Editorial Intern
Flower by Kenzo Eau de Parfum, from $91

"I am very particular about the scents that I wear. Kenzo Flower is fresh and not too sweet and I never have to worry about reapplying it every few hours. The floral notes are balanced out with a bit of white musk, vanilla, violet and rose making it a fragrance I can wear no matter the time of day or occasion."

Prada Candy Florale Eau de Toilette, $176

"I like to smell like I just got out of the shower — light, fresh and natural — and to me that's Prada Candy Florale EDT. Despite what the name suggests, it's not candy sweet and leans more towards the floral notes. But it's the kind of florals you find in nature... not in bottles."

Maison Francis Kurkdjian Amyris Homme, $215

"I don't have an all-time favourite fragrance as I wear scents depending on my mood. But this is my best of the best: it's woody, crisp, and has a slight oud tinge, and always puts me in a sultry mood — great for date nights."

Andrea Sim | Editorial Assistant
Miss Dior Blooming Bouquet Eau de Toilette, from $126

"It's a very feminine scent that is light and not cloyingly sweet. I also love the design of the flaçon as it sits pretty on my shelf. The silver bow on the cap and the light pink liquid of the fragrance is also part of the appeal for me."
