3 unexpected beauty looks that are perfect for Christmas
Look no further than the red carpet for your makeup and hair inspiration this yuletide season. After all, it's where the best makeup and hair artists have a chance to showcase their A-game, often bringing an adventurous twist to even the most basic looks. This Christmas eschew the usual glitter, gold and dark red lips and and try something a bit more unexpected. Whether you want to try purple shadow on your eyes, a touch of yellow or a bold pop of magenta lipstick, let these gorgeous women lead the way.
ZENDAYA'S YELLOW EYESHADOW AND WET LOOK 'DO
Trust Zendaya to up the ante at the premiere of The Greatest Showman with this cool girl take on a red carpet look. With her hair plastered down with gel in a fresh take on finger waves, we especially love her sunflower yellow eyeshadow in place of the usual pale gold. Use an eyeshadow brush to ring the eyes, not forgetting under the lower lashline as well, but keep them defined with a thin line of black liner and lots of mascara.

AMAL CLOONEY'S BEACHY WAVES AND MAGENTA LIPPIE
What we love about this look is how Amal Clooney somehow makes beachy waves look ultra-sophisticated. To create that winsdwept effect use a beach setting spray, curling tong, and some medium-hold hairspray and go with a deep, side part for that carefree vibe. For evenings and dinners, move away from the cliche of red lips with a bold lippie in still-festive shades of strawberry, fuchsia or magenta.

HAILEE STEINFELD'S '70s CURLS AND PURPLE SHADOW
We're loving Hailee Steinfeld's makeup looks this past year, and at the premiere of Pitch Perfect 3, it was no exception. Stenfeld's luscious, bombastic waves were very disco era-ish and her modern take on '80s shades felt like something we'd actually want to cop. Want to mimic her glamourous look? Try purple shadow, lots of false lashes — try two natural sets layered on top of each other if you dare — and glossy, pink lips.
