Autumn lights

Text: Renée Batchelor

Drawing from the beauty of autumn in the ancient capital of Japan, Chanel's Lumières de Kyoto lights up the complexion

Chanel's limited edition creations draw inspiration from a whole host of things, from the intricate textures of tweed fabric to the bustling energy of cities. This year, it's time to shine a light on Kyoto. Inspired by the autumn light and the rustle of falling leaves in the wind, Lumières de Kyoto, is a multi-use powder that imbues your skin with just the romantic, sunset glow you need.
Lumieres de Kyoto palette Chanel
Containing a gradation of three shades, each one has its own purpose and form without disrupting from the overall beauty of the whole — how very Japanese. In this powder you'll find an iridescent, satiny beige to highlight the skin, a shimmering, golden reddish pink blush — in an embossed foliage pattern — and a light beige face powder. If you want that luminosity and glow, sweep your brush over all three shades and apply onto the face with circular movements. If you want to use each colour more precisely, use the highlighting shade on the cheekbones, temples and nose bridge and apply the blush onto the cheekbones. Subtle, naturally beautiful, and with a charm that slips under your skin... just like the city.

$100. Available from 13 Jan 2017 at Chanel counters and stores.
