How to get ready when you're in a hurry: The Buro. team shares their beauty must-dos before leaving the house

Need for speed

Adrenaline junkies and masochists aside, no one appreciates the rush that comes with a missed alarm. And while some of us roll out of bed with the mussed, perfectly tousled locks of Harry Styles, the rest of us bear a closer resemblance to Chewbacca (sans eyebrows and all). Gun to head, here's the Buro. Singapore team's must-dos before dashing out of the door.

Dog-drool facial
"I take a dog-drool facial every morning religiously before work. Forget snail slime; warm, wet puppy saliva is the next big thing in 2019. I heard it has anti-bacterial properties, for real. Thanks to Kesavan for the image of Rei, my five-month old Italian Greyhound." — Aravin Sandran, Culture Editor

Keeping to the essentials
"I'm rarely late because I like having a few hours to myself in the morning and rise early, but on the occasions where I'm running behind, I condense my grooming routine into the following steps: floss and brush my teeth (never skip this step), take a quick cold shower to get the blood flowing, slap on some sunscreen and chapstick, and race out the door." — Ryan Sng, Fashion Writer

Conceal, don't feel
"Concealer is a must-have. I'll dab whatever I can while running around trying to get my life together. Then, apply some lip stain because a little lip colour is all I need to brighten that otherwise dead-looking face of mine." — Corinne Cheah, Lifestyle Intern

Time it
"I jolt up from bed, and book a car — most of the time unsuccessfully using my Grab's ETA as a timer. And yes, I've been charged the late fee of $6 many a time." — Vanessa Caitlin, Group Digital Creative Producer

Hide it under a cap
"I wear a cap to hide the bed mane and skip the contouring and mascara. Concealer is still mandatory no matter the circumstance. The world isn't ready to handle my dark under-eye circles." — Janice Sim, Lifestyle Editor

Do it on-the-go
"Never mind foundation, eyeshadow and highlight; lipstick is an absolute essential for me. If I'm running late, I'll simply apply some colour to my lips whilst walking or onboard a moving bus — a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do!" — Isabel Kua, Fashion Intern

Speed racer
"I'll fall back on tried-and-tested looks — a top knot, eyeliner (I've had years of practice), mascara, and concealer — all possible in 10 minutes or less." — Crystal Lee, Marketing & Content Strategist

Lunchtime application
"I do exactly what I do when I'm not late — a full face of makeup. Work can wait, you know? Just kidding. I put on sunblock before running out. I have a full glam kit at my desk for a reason. The primping can wait until lunch." — Jolene Khor, Fashion & Beauty Editor
