The Ulysse Nardin Hourstriker Horse
The unfailing companion of Man since time immemorial, the horse has seen humanity through travel, agriculture and war from centuries long past. Indeed, if there ever were a creature to be extolled alongside the triumphs of mankind, it would be the valiant steed.
Recognising the hefty contributions of the horse in shaping civilisation as we know it, Ulysse Nardin seeks to honour this elite yet humble animal with the addition of the equine form to the famed Hourstriker family. The distinct Hourstriker Horse features handcrafted Jaquemarts on a dial of authentic black onyx and utilises a striking mechanism that syncs with the movements of the hands. This sound-and-motion combination, a rare mechanism which Ulysse Nardin is an early proprietor of, results in a 'gong' on the hour, every hour and is also customisable to sound on the half hour mark.
Detailed with silhouettes of two horses portrayed in captivating stances on the watch face, this finely crafted dial sits in a 42mm casing and possesses a self-winding power reserve of up to 42 hours. Its intricate inner working is well protected beneath a sapphire crystal cover for extreme durability and resilience to scratches, as well as being water resistant to 30 metres. Available in either an 18-carat rose gold frame or a platinum case, the Hourstriker Horse is elegant, powerful and visually arresting — a genuine testament to its gallant namesake.
The Ulysse Nardin Hourstriker Horse retails exclusively at The Hour Glass. Limited to 28 pieces.
