The Luminox P-38 Lighting Automatic 9400 series takes flight
The Luminox P-38 Lightning Automatic 9400 series, are the latest in a line of collections paying homage to Lockheed Martin engineered aircrafts. Featuring two designs, the timepieces were created under an official and worldwide licence with the American aerospace defence company.
Made up of the Luminox P-38 Automatic 9401 and the Premium Luminox P-38 Lightning Valjoux Chronograph Automatic 9461, the collection uses aircraft-inspired details to honour the celebrated history of the US Air Force. Differences between the timepieces lie in the dial display and the movement. Where the Luminox P-38 Automatic 9401 showcases the automatic movement, the Premium Luminox P-38 Lightning Valjoux Chronograph Automatic 9461 features a chronograph movement. Reminiscent of the Luminox AIR series, the unique vintage 44mm designs boast elements not present in other timepieces.
Night vision tubes illuminate the watch hands and numbers in the dark, much like the dials within an aircraft. To further enforce the connection to the aviation industry, the case backs are engraved with an image of an aircraft. On the front, a stainless steel brushed case and security screw on the crown are accompanied with a sapphire crystal glass with an anti-reflective coating, while the genuine leather straps complete the vintage design.
The Luminox P-38 Lightning Automatic 9400 Series are availabe at all leading department stores and authorised watch retailers.
