France, one of Europe's producers of fine luxury jewellery is home to the Maison of Chaumet. After 230 years of expert craftsmanship, the brand has released the Joséphine collection 2015, with Empress Joséphine as its muse. The collection, pays homage to the country's most elegant woman at a time of Imperial rule.
While interpreting the style of its namesake, the collection also highlights the quality and workmanship of the Maison. The collection is made up of 45 finely crafted pieces that are seperated into four sets. Using bold and coloured gems, the eye-catching designs capture the beauty of the 1700s.
From the Rondes de Nuit, Aigrette Impériale, Éclat Floral and Aube Printaniére, each set uses soft curves and feminine shapes to capture the timeless beauty that has survived over 200 years. Casting a spell is the Rondes de Nuit set featuring pieces with pear-shaped diamonds surrounded by sculpted pear-shaped diamonds. The star of the set: The Rondes de Nuit between the finger ring, a design that combines the old world charm with modernity.
The other set in the collection that catches the eye is the Éclat Floral. A range of rings with coloured square-cut diamonds sitting atop two rows of white diamonds, reminiscent of a crown. The full collection also includes earrings, bracelets, watches and necklaces. By blending fine French craftsmanship and skill through the use of clean-cut lines and gentle swirls, Chaumet showcases the perfect balance of grace and masculinity from the era of Empress Joséphine.
