The Connected Watch by Tag Heuer
The Android smartwatch
Across the Atlantic, luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer and Google unveiled their latest creation earlier this week. The Tag Heuer Connected Watch is an innovative new design by the Swiss brand powered by Android Wear.
The collaboration — a first for both brands — combines luxury, history and technology all into one simple device. Near, far or wherever you are, the timepiece is able to calculate, display and exchange data as long as you have wi-fi connection. With data stored conveniently in the cloud, it also allows for audio streaming and Bluetooth connectivity ensuring that you can harness a full range of features. A daylong battery life and memory space of 4GB makes this into a mini-Android computer on your wrist. With the small microphone set within the watch, you will also be able to communicate with Google voice control.
The digital display, like any smartwatch, mimics three traditional chronograph dials that are reminiscent of the brand's Carrera collection. The Tag Heuer app that is available on Goolge Play Store, will soon be releasing several new watch faces for the timpiece. The three windows on the interactive dial at the 12, 6 and 9 o'clock positions features information regarding other applications. Simply touch the counter that interests you and it switches to a full screen mode.
Outfitted with a case, caseback and lugs of grade-two titanium, the timepiece is lighter and withstands impacts that would otherwise affect steel or gold. Select a textured rubber strap available in six colours, and you are all set to go. Should you decide that the Tag Heuer Connected Watch is no longer the timepiece for you, the watchmaker has a solution for you. At the end of the two-year warranty, head to a Tag Heuer store of your choice and swap it for a mechanical Swiss Made Carrera. Made of a similar material, the timepiece is developed and reserved exclusively for owners of connected watches.
The Tag Heuer Connected Watch is available here as well as at all Tag Heuer outlets and exclusive retailers worldwide.
