Feminine power play: The Richard Mille RM 07-01 and RM 037 ladies’ timepieces
Famously distinguished for their luxurious high-octane complications, Richard Mille is the go-to maison for cutting-edge horology enveloped in maverick skins that amaze even the most hardened horophiles — albeit with a bias towards the more masculine side of things. But in a bid to even out the odds, the Swiss manufacturer is giving the feminine movement a leg up with the launch of two new timepieces: The RM 07-01 and RM 037.
Assiduously crafted with all the characteristics of the men's collection, these striking watches cut an elegant, distinctive profile cast in a multitude of glittering gems set against a matte black casing. Eye-catching to say the least, this sister duo certainly comes off as deceptively ethereal, yet there's a lot more than meets the eye as its NTPT carbon frame marks a new methodology whereby the maison has to specially work with diamond tools to carve out each pavé setting due to the material's extreme durability and resistance. An exercise in unassailable craftsmanship, the same expertise extends to the interior with the RM 07-01 sporting a calibre CRMA2 skeletonised automatic movement with an adjustable rotor geometry for the hours and minutes, while a calibre CRMA1 outfits the RM 037, tacking on an additional oversize date and functions selector.
Further highlighted by accents of gleaming red gold, these Richard Mille creations appeal to today's tough as nails female crowd by being unapologetically fierce yet gracefully feminine.
The RM 07-31 and RM 037 are available at Richard Mille boutiques.
