Kate Winslet puts her name on a very limited edition Longines Heritage watch
Longines brings back a heritage timepiece, chosen and autographed by Kate Winslet

Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet — the amount of gravitas in that five-word phrase alone is through the roof. Incidentally, only five pieces of this exclusive watch has been produced and is a model personally selected by Winslet, Longines' Ambassador of Elegance, during a visit to the maison's headquarters in Switzerland the previous year.

Named after the actress and engraved with her signature on its caseback, the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet rocks the same dial as the 60th Anniversary edition Flagship Heritage novelty, sized at 35mm with a small seconds dial at 6 o'clock. But that's where the similarities end, as the case and straps are chosen by Winslet — the latter shaded in camel to complement its yellow gold frame — resulting in a colour palette that's as sophisticated as it its unique. Beyond its stunning façade, this limited run of the Flagship Heritage reaches out to Winslet's Golden Hat Foundation — a charity co-founded by the actress that supports people with autism and is dedicated to changing the worldview on how they are perceived.

As Winslet shares: "I was given the permission to choose a watch, which was designed specifically for the Golden Hat Foundation. The style of the model really appealed to me and I instantly fell in love with it. All the profits of the selling of the model are going directly to the Foundation. This project with Longines is helping raise awareness about a particular cause dear to my heart. Thanks to Longines' involvement and the generosity of the donators, the Foundation will keep on working towards achieving its goals."

Three of the Flagship Heritage by Kate Winslet timepieces will go to the cause, to be auctioned online from now until 30 June. As for the remaining two — if you're wondering why they're withholding two pieces from the public — one will belong to Kate (she did design it), and the other will find a home in the Longines museum. And upping the prestige another notch, successful bidders will receive their watch from the actress herself at the next Longines event. So get your digital paddles out and may the best bidder win.
