Clocking a new milestone in horology artwork by employing the engraving and enamelling technique Email Ombrant on watches for the very first time, Hermès' Arceau Tigre timepiece more than does justice to Robert Dallas' life-like paintings. A wildlife artist who collaborated with the French leather house back in the '80s, the 41mm masterpiece also doubles up as tribute to his inspiring legacy.
Executing the Email Ombrant is a feat not easily mastered: Mapping out the depressions and contrasted raised areas of the tiger are an absolute necessity. Done in tandem with the manner in which light hits the watch, Hermès captures the animal in time right down to the finery of each individual whisker. Working with a white gold base befitting of the majestic beast, the ferocious self-winding timepiece is capable of 50 hours in power reserve and strapped with luxurious tone-on-tone alligator leather.
The Hermès Arceau Tigre is produced in a limited edition batch of 12 pieces.
