Colour carnival: The Dior Granville collection
The breathtaking northern coast of France is credited with expanses of scenic beaches, towering cliff sides, as well as the family home of Christian Dior. It is here in Granville, Normandy that the renowned designer spent his childhood growing up and playing amongst the lush colours in his family garden. Victoire de Castellane, creative director of the atelier's fine jewellery division, now brings this picturesque memory to life with the Dior Granville collection.
Twelve exquisite pieces of haute joaillerie evoke the spirit of imaginative children's games. Like colourful stickers placed together in spontaneity, vivid gems ranging from peridot to pink tourmaline take centre stage in the high jewellery collection. Cut and constructed by the best artisans, the rainbow shades are a flashing cadence of harmonious hues.
In the same vein of deference, De Castellane has also designed a series of haute horlogerie pieces that conjure the essence of Dior's vibrant upbringing, the D de Dior 'Granville' collection. Reminiscent of the costumes the couturier designed for his friends and family, nine timepieces are bedecked in brilliantly cut precious stones and a diamond topped crown to echo a colour carnival. Finely wrought and a delightful joy to behold, the Granville collection is expressive of the limitless creativity of Dior's youth which fuelled the core that established his fashion legacy.
The Granville collection is available at Dior boutiques.
