In a groundbreaking move, Swiss watchmaker Hublot has announced Chen Man as its first female Asian brand ambassador. Playing on the dualities of light and shadow, the visual artist has made a name for herself with stunning, sometimes surrealist, photography and has held exhibitions of her work in Paris, London, Hong Kong and Los Angeles. While she has been called upon to shoot Hublot's past ambassadors (she counts supermodel Bar Rafaeli and style icon Lapo Elkann as subjects), this is the first time that she has fronted a campaign of her own.
"I love the brand, not only out of respect for its watchmaking traditions and persistence in innovation, but also because of the brand's spirit," Chen said. "The power of fusion brings greater tension into art pieces and increases the depth of thinking, and likewise, the brand philosophy of Hublot keeps me exploring, realizing my dream of art."
Chen's appointment is the Swiss watchmaker's latest instalment of their 'Hublot Loves Art' campaign; reinforcing its support of the art world that features prominent modern artists.
