Celebrating the Millenary woman: Audemars Piguet
After 130 years of crafting watches for women, Audemars Piguet excels in understanding the ever-evolving styles of each era

Recognising the need to combine reliability, craftsmanship and beauty, the new 2015 Millenary collection celebrates 20 years since it was first created. Launched in Paris last month, the new collection features three similar designs in varying colours and features craftsmanship that are both delicate yet strong.

The similarities between all three designs lies in the use of glare-proof sapphire crystal case, case-back and additional black alligator strap for those who prefer it. Off-centred discs display the hour and seconds on each oval case shape, showcasing the balance between old-world artisanship and new-world design.

In blue, the timepiece features 136 diamonds on the dial alone and while 438 brilliant-cut diamonds cover the case and the buckle. The crown, is topped off with a blue cabochon sapphire that matches the blue-gold hands on the dial, complete with a pearly dark grey alligator strap and 18-carat white gold pin buckle.

Using only 116 brilliant-cut diamonds, leaving the dial much simpler than the blue, the other two designs feature mother-of pearl designs and come in 18-carat white gold and pink gold cases. The 18-carat white gold timepiece is fitted with a beige alligator strap and a 18-carat white gold buckle. A shimmering brown alligator strap and 18-carat pink gold pin buckle, are chosen to complete the pink gold cases while pink cabochon sapphires are set on the crown of both designs.
