#TravelTuesday: Instagram highlights from our stay at W Retreat & Spa Bali
Armed with swim shorts, ukuleles and printed beach mats, we arrived at the W Retreat & Spa Bali all ready to embrace island living. But we quickly realised that we didn't need to bring much at all. The hotel had pretty much everything we needed: A stunning beachfront for our fashion shoot, well-appointed villas for us to escape from the madness of Seminyak, and even complimentary sunscreen to shield us from the omnipresent sun. What did we love about our stay? Plenty. We take a look at the moments we immortalised on Instagram.
The view from our Buro 'office' in Bali was breathtaking. It certainly set the bar for future office goals.
The expansive pool at the W meant that there were private little pockets to lounge at. This spot was one of my favourites.
There's always a party at the W, but along with it are these unexpected places where you can stay still for a moment. This quiet pavilion at the Oasis is one of them and I'm glad I stumbled upon it.
Fuelling up At Starfish Bloo, the hotel's award-winning restaurant serving up fresh, bright, Pan-Asian flavours that hit all the right notes.
Clearly, my years of "sun" training in Singapore couldn't prepare me for the searing heat in Bali. But here it is, our oasis (home) on the island of the gods.
The best way to beat the heat? Lychee mint goodness served with plenty of ice.
Poolside ammunition: Orlebar Brown swim shorts, a good read, sick shades. What else could a boy ask for?
Sneaked in a quiet moment by my villa's pool. It was the perfect time to reflect (pun intended).
Our two-bedroom pool villa, where editorial meetings and midnight swims happen.
Outdoor rain showers — no better way to feel at one with nature.
Little in-room surprises: An afternoon perk-me-up with DIY pomegranate martinis to be enjoyed on our balcony overlooking the sea. Not pictured here are the chocolates and sweet treats that kept appearing in our rooms.
Designed to mimic rice terraces, each layer at the pool is great for lounging on the wet chairs for a Sunday read or propping your head up against the edge to listen to the waves. Props to W for providing floaties as well!
Expansive blues and crashing waves — that's therapy at its best on W's private beach.
There's something magical about the sunsets in Bali and the ones we caught from the poolside at the W were spectacular. Perfect for pairing with a sundowner.
