American luggage brand Tumi has just amped up their street cred with a little help from New York designers Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne of Public School. The collaboration between these two American brands sees a seamless fusion of Tumi's expertise in innovative luggage design accented with the signature monochromatic colour scheme that fashion label Public School is known for.
The sleek six-piece collection comprises a 24-inch check-in wheeled bag, 21-inch carry-on, travel satchel, backpack, day tote, and dopp kit. The wheeled pieces caught our eye for its unusual weave pattern effect, created as a result of layering a laser-cut netting over Tumi's own Tegris material in black graphite. This weave pattern plays on as a motif throughout the collection, lending handsome accents to the hardware and luggage tags of the day bags and accessories. Unlike the wheeled pieces that have to weather the trauma of rough baggage handling, the tote is designed in more supple materials like leather and suede.
The Public School x Tumi collection will be sold exclusively at TUMI collection stores, www.Tumi.com, Tumi Takashimaya S.C., Tumi Mandarin Gallery and Tumi Marina Bay Sands.
